Role

The Splunk internship program runs for a minimum of 10 weeks, up to a maximum of 12 consecutive weeks with start dates between May and June 2024. Applicants should be available to participate full-time (40 hours/week) in an internship during this time.

Splunk Growth Engineering Team is looking for a passionate and motivated DevOps Engineer Intern to join the team for Summer 2024. Our Interns are given ambitious projects over the work term and are provided with relevant experience with high expectations for performance. If you're passionate about DevOps technology, driven to innovate, and eager to make a significant impact, this is the opportunity for you!

This team is responsible for managing the infrastructure, application and security of splunk.com and various other marketing web properties. As part of this role, you will work closely with the scrum master and technical lead to plan and complete DevOps tasks.

What you'll get to do

As a DevOps Engineer Intern you will be responsible for

  • Responsible for the quality of everything produced, if you build it, you run it.
  • Work with internal Engineering, IT, and Security Operations teams to build and sustain Web sites/applications.
  • Highly motivated, reliable, detailed, driven to produce high-quality work and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Build, automate and maintain our infrastructure in AWS/On-Perm, focusing on Infrastructure and CI/CD practices

Must-have Qualifications

  • Actively pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in a technical field and strong record of academic achievement.
  • At least one semester/quarter remaining to complete after the internship
  • Available to work 40 hours a week for 12 weeks

Nice-to-have Qualifications

  • Experience in designing/building systems for websites/applications/web properties.
  • Basic understanding of AWS, Content Delivery Networks, Jenkins, Git and familiarity with build and monitoring tools.
  • Experience in Web Server applications like Apache and NGINX.
  • Ability to quickly acquire new skills and tools.
  • Be a clear communicator, document your work and share your ideas.

Our Splunktern Program allows incoming interns the flexibility to choose from three start dates, currently anticipated to be:

  • Monday, May 20, 2024
  • Monday, June 3, 2024
  • Monday, June 17, 2024

Note:

Base Pay is based on a candidate completing 3 years of university or the academic equivalent

Base Pay

SF Bay Area, Seattle Metro and New York City Metro Area

Base Pay: $50 per hour

California (excludes SF Bay Area), Washington (excludes Seattle Metro), Washington DC Metro, and Massachusetts

Base Pay: $45 per hour

All other cities and states excluding California, Washington, Massachusetts, New York City Metro Area and Washington DC Metro Area.

Base Pay: $42 per hour

Splunk provides flexibility and choice in the working arrangement for most roles, including remote and/or in-office roles. We have a market-based pay structure which varies by location. Please note that the base pay is a guideline and for candidates who receive an offer, the base pay will vary based on factors such as work location as set out above, as well as the knowledge, skills, year in school and experience of the candidate. In addition to base pay, this role may be eligible for benefits.
