DevOps Engineer, New York
Job Description
Lab49 is looking for a DevOps Engineer who can help build enterprise-grade cloud infrastructure. Working in a collaborative and innovative project team, with direct enterprise client-facing interactions, you will have an opportunity to apply your skills and expertise to design sophisticated solutions that solve client challenges and enhance outcomes for them and their clients.Â
Responsibilities
- Architect, design, develop, and deploy DevOps flows to support cloud-native applications.Â
- Work with team leadership and other technologists to create enterprise solutions based on business and technical priorities.Â
- Actively contribute to the adoption of robust cloud architecture, development and engineering best practices, and the adoption of new cloud technologies.Â
- Break down complex problems into elegant technical solutions to intelligently solve problems for Lab49's clients.Â
- Provide guidance, thought leadership, and mentorship to development teams to build cloud competencies.Â
- Describe complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.Â
- Define and document best practices and strategies regarding application deployment and infrastructure maintenance.Â
Required Skills and Experience
- 4-7 years of experience working on cloud infrastructure & automationÂ
- Experience with and knowledge of software development lifecycle and infrastructure-as-code tooling - Terraform.Â
- Experience with architecting, designing, developing, and deploying cloud-native applications, in particular in Amazon Web Services (AWS).Â
- Good working knowledge of various cloud services provided by AWS.Â
- Good knowledge of Docker and / or other container technologies.Â
- Experience with GitHub Actions and / or Jenkins or other CI/CD tools.Â
- Ability to collaborate across multi-discipline teams on architecture, features, and problem-solving.Â
- Ability to communicate technical concepts effectively, both written and orally, as well as interpersonal skills required to collaborate effectively with customers and colleagues from diverse technical teams.Â
- Good grasp of software design patterns and effective development methodologies.Â
- BS in Computer Science or equivalent experience.Â
Desired Skills
- Ideally, experience with other tools like CloudFormation, CDK, HelmÂ
- Experience with migrating legacy applications to the cloud.Â
- Experience with and understanding of cloud security concepts and tooling, such as AWS IAM, HashiCorp Vault, CyberArk, etc.Â
- Experience with cloud data services, such as AWS Aurora, and DynamoDB.Â
- Good knowledge of at least one programming language (Java, JavaScript, Python, Go), Python preferred.Â
- Serverless Architectures experienceÂ
We are hiring across multiple levels for this job.
The base salary range across different levels are -
• Early career – $50,000 - $80,000
• Early to mid level – $75,000 - $165,000
• Mid to Senior level – $140,000 - $210,000
• Senior to Leadership level - $200,000 - $225,000
Placement within the range provided above is based on the individual’s relevant experience and skills for the role and level.
Base salary is only one component of our total compensation package. Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus, which is determined upon company and individual performance.
Salary range disclosure as required by S9427A when hiring in New York.
