DevOps Engineer / RSE

Project Description

Our client is a leading global Financial markets data provider runs a number of change programs to deliver of high-quality software that connects Financial Markets across the glob in a real-time, high frequency and low-latency data management chain. The projects are technically challenging in an environment that is very engaging. Projects will utilize a multitude of different languages and skill sets with a focus on C++, Java and scripting languages.

The DevOps Engineer is responsible for collaborating with internal stakeholders, including software development teams and information technology resources to support business processes and provide operational efficiency using industry standard technologies.

This position will work collaboratively with IT and software engineering teams to deploy and operate our systems/platforms, and support client utilization. This will include helping to automate and streamline our operations and processes, along with building and maintaining tools for deployment, monitoring and operations. Additionally, this position will troubleshoot and resolve issues in our dev, test and production environments.

Responsibilities

• Recommend, develop and implement system enhancements that will improve the performance and reliability of the system including installing, upgrading/patching, monitoring, problem resolution• Responsibility for analyzing network and system performance and evaluating new tools and systems• Manage and enhance build and continuous integration infrastructure; support infrastructure for development teams and enhance tools for development workflows• Contribute to our growing Configuration Management footprint in various environments• Experience with source code version control systems, git• Support release process• Review requirements, specifications and technical design documents to provide timely and meaningful feedback• Liaise with internal teams (e.g. developers and product managers) to identify system requirements

Skills

Must have

• Monitor and maintain CI/CD Pipelines for production deployments• Middle to Strong knowledge of Linux, RPM package management basic to middle knowledge• Understanding of CI/CD, supporting Jenkins build jobs for gradle, Cmake, Visual Studio, Python• Python Robot framework would be plus• Jira integration, optional Zephyr• Middle to strong knowledge of Networking protocols• AWS (EC2, AMI)
