Primary Purpose
Our team is leveraging the latest emerging technologies to craft the next-generation software core of Peapod Digital Labs' eCommerce and order fulfillment platforms. As a DevOps Manager, you will be responsible for leading and growing a team of talented engineers, and providing technical leadership in the areas of telemetry, logging, and tracing. You will collaborate with platform and product engineering teams to evolve our observability platform for the unified monitoring of thousands of Azure cloud and on-premises hosts and services.
Our flexible/ hybrid work schedule includes 3 in-person days at one of our core locations and 2 remote days.
Duties & Responsibilities

• Work to ensure that our monitoring platform detects issues and anomalies in the mission-critical systems with high relevance and accuracy
• Provide technical leadership in the areas of metrics, logging, tracing, profiling, alerting, and visualization. When needed lead technical deep-dive into code and system design to help diagnose issues
• Build and lead high-performing engineering team. Mentor and grow engineers, and empower and unblock them
• Be the voice of platform users by creating a culture of user empathy
• Contribute to the observability standards and best practices and work to implement them consistently across engineering org
• Nurture a culture of learning, continuous improvement, and blameless retrospection within the org and across the company
• Coordinate & facilitate cross-domain teams communication and resolve technical conflicts

Qualifications

• BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent professional experience
• 3+ years of leadership roles in software engineering or platform engineering fields
• 8+ years of professional experience in software engineering or systems engineering fields
• Deep experience with monitoring tools (Splunk, DataDog, Azure Monitor)
• Deep experience with Azure Cloud platform and Azure Devops pipelines
• Deep experience with configuration management tools such as Salt, Ansible, or Chef
• Experience with DevOps practices and operating your own systems
• Experience with open source software
• Experience with one or more scripting languages
