We are seeking a Governance and Packaging Associate Manager to lead the transition of tools management services from an incumbent service provider to our internal operations. This role involves overseeing the entire lifecycle and packaging services of IT tools, ensuring seamless integration and optimization. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in tools management, project management, and service transitions, with a strong ability to handle complex migrations while maintaining operational efficiency and effectiveness.
This role requires candidates to have Australian citizenship with preference to those with security clearance.
Key responsibilities
Transition Management
- Lead the transition of tools management services from the incumbent service provider to internal teams, ensuring a smooth and effective migration process.
- Develop and execute a comprehensive transition plan, including timelines, milestones, risk assessments, and contingency measures.
- Collaborate with the incumbent provider to gather detailed documentation, configurations, and knowledge transfer materials related to the tools.
- Facilitate knowledge transfer sessions and training for internal teams to ensure they are well-prepared to manage and support the tools post-transition.
Tools Management and Lifecycle
- Oversee the management of the tools management zone, including the lifecycle of IT tools from acquisition to decommissioning.
- Develop and implement processes for tool acquisition, deployment, maintenance, and retirement.
- Ensure tools are updated and patched according to best practices and organizational policies.
- Monitor tool performance and utilization, making recommendations for improvements or upgrades as needed.
Packaging Services
- Manage the packaging and distribution of IT tools, ensuring that they are properly configured, tested, and ready for deployment.
- Develop and maintain packaging standards and procedures to ensure consistency and quality in tool deployment.
- Collaborate with application and infrastructure teams to ensure seamless integration of tools into existing environments.
Incident Management and Troubleshooting
- Act as the primary point of escalation for complex issues related to tool management, packaging, and transitions, providing expert troubleshooting and resolution.
- Develop and enforce incident management protocols for handling tool-related incidents and disruptions.
- Conduct root cause analysis for recurring issues and implement corrective measures to prevent future occurrences.
Documentation and Compliance
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for tools management processes, including lifecycle procedures, packaging standards, and transition plans.
- Ensure that tools management practices comply with internal policies, industry regulations, and data protection standards.
- Prepare reports and documentation for audits, compliance reviews, and performance assessments.
Collaboration and Communication
- Work closely with IT teams, including infrastructure, development, and support, to ensure effective management and integration of tools.
- Provide technical guidance and support to internal teams, ensuring smooth operation and support of tools.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders, providing regular updates on transition progress, tool performance, and any issues encountered.
Vendor Management
- Manage relationships with tool vendors and service providers, ensuring timely support, updates, and issue resolution.
- Oversee licensing agreements, ensuring compliance with vendor contracts and managing renewals as needed.
Project Management
- Lead project initiatives related to tools management, including transitions, upgrades, and optimizations.
- Manage project timelines, deliverables, and resources to ensure successful completion of tools management projects.
Hereâs what you need
- 7+ years of hands-on experience in managing IT tools, including lifecycle management, packaging, and transitions
- Proven experience leading transitions of tools management services from external providers to internal teams
- Strong knowledge of tools management best practices, including lifecycle management, packaging, and deployment.
- Expertise in tools management platforms and technologies, including lifecycle management, packaging solutions, and deployment tools will be highly regarded
- Proficiency in project management methodologies and tools, with experience in managing complex transitions is an advantage
- Familiarity with scripting and automation tools (e.g., PowerShell, Python) for tool management tasks is preferred
