Title: SRE / Dev Ops Senior Engineer
Location: Chicago IL
The base salary offered will range between $55,000 - $150,000 and will depend on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, the qualifications of the applicant, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, other business and organizational needs, and if applicable, the location from which the applicant will be performing the job. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered such as bonuses, equity, etc.
Role Description: The Technical Operations Lead is responsible for establishing how we monitor and manage production systems 24 x 7. Success in this role is defined as awareness of issues simultaneously as they arise but preferable prior to them occurring and executing the required procedures and triage steps to correct or escalate before causing customer impacts.
Job Description:
• Partner with product and development teams to understand SLA's.
• Create based SLO's and SLI's based on SLA's or determine SLA based off SLI
• Establish ability to measure adherence to SLO in production.
• Establish test cases prior to production deployments that new changes can continue to meet SLO's
• Establish error budgets and toll gates when SLO's are not being met.
• Review new projects to determine non functional requirements as it relates to performance, resiliency, monitoring, logging and error handling.
• Capacity management
• Partner with development and business teams to identify critical workflows and instrument telemetry for early detection of issues and user experience.
• Review alerts to identify problem areas resulting in application or infrastructure opportunities or alerting adjustments.
• Escalate and engage necessary parties if unable to resolve.
• Introduce self-healing capabilities triggered from alerting to remediate known performance and availability issues i.e., IIS Restarts
• Perform and automate deployments.
• Look for automation opportunities for any manual repeatable processes.
Requirements:
• Automation experience using python.
• Experience with AaaS preferred RPA
• Experience with MS Azure
• Experience with Grafana
• Experience performance testing and tuning
Experience with instrumenting telemetry end to end on critical workflows
• Experience resiliency testing
• Experience with SLO/SLI
• Experience with an Application Performance Management tool.
• Playbook documentation experience.
