The Raytheon Technologies Cyber Operations Development and Evaluation (CODE) Center is working to transform the future of software system development through the integration of Development, Security, and Operations (DevSecOps). The infrastructure team is seeking a leader/scrum master to drive DevSecOps methodologies into empowered and high performing teams- founded on a culture of excellence, creative problem-solving, and a willingness to take calculated risks.
The successful applicant will lead activities such as cross business unit technical workshops to identify barriers to DevSecOps adoption, formulate projects to address barriers, and lead the execution of projects across the enterprise. This leader will investigate the cutting-edge tools, technologies, and processes used in modern system development and engage directly with programs in all business units to implement DevSecOps strategies. Additionally, the DevSecOps engineer will lead training across the enterprise with a combination of in-person and webcast formats. In 2023, the CODE Center will be continuing the progress made in DevSecOps on other corporate projects by incorporating security throughout the DevSecOps value stream and implementing continuous Authority to Operate (cATO).
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the cultural change to make DevSecOps pervasive, identifying ways to highlight and celebrate successes and embracing the empowerment model
- Work with Business Product CyberSecurity Officers, Program Chief Engineers, and Engineering Organization Vice Presidents to identify and align the DevSecOps insertion plan for specific near-term programs and significant initiatives
- Develop a consistent DevSecOps insertion approach, working with each of the program's identified DevSecOps champions to drive DevSecOps adoption
- Document the deployment of DevSecOps, develop and monitor key measures, including benefits, to programs and to the KPIs associated with the execution of key transformation initiatives.
- Develop and deliver role based DevSecOps training for Engineering
- Leverage the Chiefs and Fellows across Engineering to reinforce the use of DevSecOps, such that they are serving as ambassadors of the transformation
- Assesses the maturity of the teams deploying DevSecOps and helps mature through training or direct coaching to strengthen execution
- Drive requirements into Engineering Tools & Methods teams to ensure common, preferred DevSecOps tools are identified, implemented, maintained
- increase the maturity of cyber security in our products through the enablement of automation in our DevSecOps pipelines
Required Skills:
- Understanding of the DevSecOps full cycle with applied experience
- Experience leading business or corporate level projects
- Significant hands-on experience in the Software Engineering discipline with one or more of these specialties:
- Experience in software design, development, and test activities
- Experience with unit test frameworks such as Junit or Google Test
- Experience with Security Automation and cATO
- Experience automating software or system level testing using tools such as eggplant, Cucumber, Gerkin, RQM, etc
- Experience with Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery methods and tools such as Jenkins, Bamboo, etc
- Ability to work independently and quickly pick up new tools, environments, languages, and platforms
- Hands-on experience investigating/solving problems
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills
- Good technical writing skills and experience (white papers, trade studies, process enablers, learning materials, presentations)
- Thorough understanding of the secure product development lifecycle
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 10 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations
- Ability to work remotely most of the time and to travel to sites for program engagements and training (estimated at ~25%)
Desired Skills
- Active Security Clearance
- Experience in Systems Engineering, Systems Test and/or Software Disciplines design, development, and test activities
- Familiarity with automated security tools and techniques
The salary range for this role is $129,000.00 to $265,000.00; however, Raytheon Technologies considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, education/training, and key skills.
