DevSecOps Cloud Engineer

As a DevSecOps Cloud Engineer on our team, you are the backbone of our strategic initiatives and will be responsible for developing technology critical to the success of our projects as well as national security.

This position supports the long-running Nuclear Capabilities Services (NuCS) project as part of ARA's Nuclear Effects & System Assessment (NESA) directorate. This directorate is responsible for nuclear analyses including EMP testing, missile defense, high-powered electromagnetics, nuclear hardening and survivability, and model creation and validation. Based out of Raleigh, NC this position is part of a multi-disciplinary collaborative team of physicists and software engineers delivering the next generation of cloud and web-enabled physics modeling software.

As a member of our team, you will spend your days creating and updating Continuous Integration / Continuous Deployment DevSecOps pipelines, automating the provisioning of build VM's and Kubernetes clusters, and addressing security findings discovered in SAST/DAST/Image Scans. You will also have the opportunity to work on a wide variety of other tasks related to scientific software development, such as supporting multiple teams working on Windows and Linux-based applications. We are looking for someone who is passionate about their work and eager to collaborate with our team to achieve our goals.

This position is open to hybrid work.

Due to the work you'll perform and interactions with the intelligence community and DoD programs you must be a US citizen and will need to be eligible to apply for and hold a US Security Clearance (selected applicants will undergo a security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements at the time of employment).

DevSecOps Cloud Engineer Required Education and/or Experience:

Associates Degree in Computer Science (or similar STEM degree) with 7-9 years of related experience OR Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science (or similar STEM degree) along with 5-7 years of related experience OR 3-5 years of experience with a Master's Degree

DevSecOps Cloud Engineer Required Technology & Skills:

Successful candidates will possess an extensive background in 3 or more of the following as well as demonstrate a strong desire to learn 3 or more of these skill sets:

• Linux (RHEL or Ubuntu preferred)
• Git
• Kubernetes & Containers
• Cybersecurity (vulnerability management, threat modeling, risk assessment)
• Operating a Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) system (GitLab or equivalent)
• Infrastructure as Code (Ansible, Terraform, or equivalent)
