Job Description

Torch Technologies, a 100 percent employee-owned company, is seeking a professional DevSecOps Engineer to join a team currently developing virtual training devices. Candidates applying for this position will have the opportunity to work with gaming technology and interactive visualization products for training soldiers and civilians.

The candidate selected for this position will enable multiple agile development teams in creating development and operational environments for developers, artists, and subject matter experts. The ideal candidate must be able to work well both independently and within a multi-disciplinary collaborative team environment. The teams are developing a reusable framework and customer applications using the framework.

Expectations and Responsibilities:
• As a member of the Advanced VizLab, you are expected to be a positive, pro-active, and contributing team member, both within the lab, and across the company.
• You will be responsible for delivering or contributing to a range services and infrastructure operating in On-Premise and Cloud Environments within a Corporate IT Managed environment.
• You will contribute to the processes for building and integrating software components into a fully functional software system that exceeds customer expectations.
• You will have a focus on both fast iteration and long-term architecture while creating maintainable, testable, well-structured high-quality code.
• You will be responsible for implementing features to a high quality, providing tools, documentation and support including automated testing and low-level debugging.
• You will be expected to mentor junior level team members and take a leading role in architecting solutions.

• Eligibility to obtain and maintain a United States SECRET clearance is required employment in this position.

Technical Requirements:
• Maintain reproducibility of infrastructure for multiple environments by provisioning infrastructure using infrastructure as code tools such as Terraform and Ansible.
• Build and maintain reusable infrastructure modules using Terraform, Ansible, and other tools.
• Test and evaluate solutions for vulnerabilities using SonarQube and similar services.
• Enable team to deliver continuously by extending and creating CI/CD pipelines.
• Manage the instrumentation of services to facilitate monitoring and alerting for incident response and capacity planning.
• Maximize availability through proactive monitoring and automated deployment gates that verify an application's readiness before promoting it to production.
• Troubleshoot performance issues and broken deployments.
• Manage the configuration of all services and environments used by the team.
• Assist the team in architecting scalable and secure solutions.
• Maintain technical documentation for infrastructure.
• Ensure on call team members are adequately supported with runbooks for alerts and scenarios they may encounter.
• Proactively eliminate toilsome tasks through automation.
• Provide insights into system performance and behavior by building dashboards in Grafana.
• Current Certification for CompTIA Security+
• A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or other relevant field of study and +5 years of professional experience.

Desired but Not Required Experience:
• +3 years professional working experience in Cloud Dev Ops.
• Experience developing CI/CD Pipelines with Jenkins and Gitlab.
• Administration of Atlassian products Jira & Confluence as well as Software Repositories such as GitLab and Perforce.
• Expert Administrator with multiple Server and Desktop Operating Systems.
• Proficient with Network Service Configuration (HTTP&HTTPS, DNS, Identity Managers, etc.)
• Additional Relevant Certifications such as CISSP
