DevSecOps Engineer II | FORGE C2

JOB SUMMARY:

The DevOps Engineer independently evaluates, selects, adapts, and modifies standard techniques and criteria in order to plan and conduct engineering assignment. Independently plans, schedules, and conducts or coordinates detailed phases of engineering work through the selection and adaptation or modification of techniques, procedures, and criteria. Analyzes complex features of the work and applies principles and practices of the discipline or devises new approaches in problem solutions. Thoroughly reviews all results from assigned tasks and determine if outputs are complete, correct, integrated with project objectives, and adequately documented.

FORGE Command and Control (FC2) will be a critical piece of the United States Space Force's missile warning mission. In order to provide reliable and robust command and control that can accommodate multiple current and future space vehicle assets, FC2 will need to be cyber-secure and resilient while designed and built to be open, modular, and scalable within a Government-owned technical baseline. In addition, the FC2 solution will require the integration of multiple parts from various providers (including pre-determined efforts that are currently in development) using a modern software development and deployment approach.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

This DevSecOps Engineer will provide subject matter expertise associated with one or more cloud related support services including software engineering, DevOps, cloud platform and infrastructure management, data management, automated testing, architecture development, security engineering and network engineering. May support infrastructure, platform, and application systems to develop, deploy and operate software systems in the cloud. Addresses complex problems in areas such as systems integration, compatibility, and hybrid and multi-cloud environments.

Responsible for overseeing, automating, and streamlining container and security operations in a virtual environment. They will help to integrate security practices throughout the container lifecycle, minimize vulnerabilities in source code and internal applications, and ensure processes are running smoothly. The ideal candidate will have experience automating processes (Ansible, Python, Chef, PowerShell), working with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes), detecting security threats and vulnerabilities, and working in an enterprise-level virtual environment (VMware, Tanzu).

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Experience managing, testing, securing, and releasing software using automated tools
• Experience developing, testing, and deploying technologies to build automated Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment pipelines
• Experience supporting infrastructure, platform, and application systems to develop, deploy and operate software systems on a cloud hosted Kubernetes container platform
• Strong working knowledge of AWS
• Proficiency with Terraform, Ansible, GitLab CD, GitLab Runners, GitOps/ArgoCD, Helm, Kubectl
• Virtualization experience with VMware or Tanzu
• Experience in a cloud environment - vendor specific (AWS, Azure, etc.) or vendor agnostic
• Experience automating DevOps processes (Ansible, Python, Chef, PowerShell)
• Experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Experience detecting vulnerabilities in source code and internal applications

YEARS OF EXPERIENCE: 5+ years of DevSecOps experience

CERTIFICATIONS: AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, Microsoft DevOps Engineer Expert preferred but not required

SECURITY CLEARANCE: Active Secret minimum - TS Preferred

EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree preferred but not required

U.S. Citizenship is required for most positions at Zivaro, due to security clearance and government/federal contracts held by Zivaro.
