DHS Account Lead (SEVP Program Manager)
Changeis, Inc. is an award-winning 8(a) certified, woman-owned small business that provides management consulting and technical services to the public sector. We are seeking an Account Manager who will also function as our corporate project manager to manage and develop our DHS contract. This opportunity requires a local candidate residing within a commutable distance within the DC/Northern Virginia and Maryland area but will offer flexible telecommuting opportunities for the right candidate.
A unique opportunity exists to function in dual roles as an account/program manager for Changeis' Department of Homeland Security (DHS) account. As Program Manager, you will have overall delivery responsibility of the tasks and activities including managing the Changeis’ SEVP team. This role will participate in project planning, daily stand-up meetings, reviews, documentation and developing and maintaining team standards, tools, and best practices. The Student and Exchange Visitor Program (SEVP) is a part of the National Security Investigations Division and acts as a bridge for government organizations that have an interest in information on nonimmigrants whose primary reason for coming to the United States is to be students. SEVP is a high-profile DHS program working in tandem with multiple federal agencies including State Department, Customs Border Patrol (CBP) higher education organizations throughout the country.
As Changeis’ Account Leader, you will own the account management sales strategy across DHS to develop and drive new and existing business associated with this account. This role will engage frequently with executive customers to shape requirements and introduce capabilities of our organization.Â
Specific responsibilities of this position include:
- Drive revenue growth at DHS that fully optimizes the use of SB and 8(a) status and successful graduation/transition into the Full & Open (F&O) market. Help with one, two and three-year business plans for expanding footprint at DHS.
- Lead strategy and governance to instill a growth mindset, defining an overarching BD approach (framework, pipeline alignment to company strategy) that enables proactive, strategic and priority lifecycle capture (identification through award).
- Identify, evaluate and recommend which opportunities the company should pursue based on close relationships with targeted customers and qualification the company can provide.
- Represent the company on industry councils to include acquisition shaping and reform
- Use relationships across industry to assemble teams to capture opportunities and articulate win strategies to include key differentiators from the competition.
- Support responses to Requests for Proposal (RFPs) and Requests for Information (RFIs). Provide weekly reporting and analysis of the business development pipeline (housed in CRM), and pitch new deals and strategies to strengthen that pipeline.
Qualifications:
- US citizen or authorization to work in US
- Required Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, or related field associated with Program Management; a professional Program Management Certification is desired but not mandatory
- Minimum of ten (10) years of experience in a program and/or project management arena, managing agile teams, and other activities
- Strong knowledge and skills to leverage project management tools including Agile management tools including JIRA/Confluence
- Substantial background working within DHS with strong contacts within this federal agency
- Demonstrated experience in account management/business developmentÂ
