Diesel Technician

DESCRIPTION

Job Summary:

Completes diagnostics, repairs and rebuilds on engine products in a service workshop under limited supervision.

We are looking for a talented Diesel Technician/Mechanic to join our Distribution business in (Mesa, AZ). will make an impact in the following ways:

• Complete repairs on engine products in a service shop
• Perform maintenance/repairs utilizing diagnostic tools
• Maintain detailed records of serviced vehicles
• Adhere to Cummins Health, Safety & Environmental policies
• Ongoing development/certifications on new and existing Cummins products
• Maintain own tools

In order to be successful in this role you will need the following:

RESPONSIBILITIES

(Advanced):

• Ability to troubleshoot with limited/no support from diagnostic tools
• Larger more complicated engine rebuilds
• Mentor junior technicians including technical support and documentation Experience: Intermediate level knowledge of and/or experience with engine products

QUALIFICATIONS

Overhaul experience required in Cummins engines. Certification is a plus.

1. The level for this position will be based on the candidate's qualifications and skill set. Qualifications for different technician levels:
2. Technician Level II: Some relevant technician experience; qualified to perform work on an intermediate number of products in-scope for technician at this location; primarily engaged in moderately complex maintenance and repair; some exposure to moderate or complex diagnostics, requires limited direct supervision, may provide basic training or guidance to new technicians.

• A current valid license is required for this role
• This role requires a 5 year motor vehicle report, free from major violations
• This role requires applicant to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical
• 3 years driving experience
• This role is subject to Department of Transportation (DOT) driving regulations including Hours of Service and Electronic Log Booking Device use
• Federal law requires a CDL holder to be 21 years of age or older, applicant must be 21 years of age
• This position is subject to Federal Transit Administration random and pre-employment drug testing requirements. This roll will be subject to on-going random drug and alcohol testing.
