ABOUT THE POSITION

We are an apparel and footwear company powered by digital technology, and we are driving a digital transformation. CDT (Columbia Sportswear Company Digital Technology) Agile Portfolio Management increases business value by aligning digital product delivery and work streams with the organization's strategic direction to maximize results. Effective communications is an important component in bringing our future state ways of working into fruition and driving the needed transparency and collaboration between teams.

The CDT Digital Communications Lead is an essential internal facing role, providing CDT with the information and transparency needed to drive an informed and engaged workplace.

This role reports to the CDT Global Portfolio Director and focuses on 3 key areas:

  • Generating communications and content related to Digital Transformation as the organization embraces agile ways of working
  • Working closely with the CDIO and VPs and as their primary communications content creator for weekly videos, email communications, and intranet articles in their voice
  • Creating and executing communications strategies related to major digital initiatives within CDT that require communication expertise beyond what the CDT agile teams customarily handle

This role is essential to the community as it creates purposeful and timely connections between employees and the broader CDT organization. You will build communications and programs that create excitement, drive engagement, and shape a culture leaning into business agility.

HOW YOU'LL MAKE A DIFFERENCE

  • Drives communications and campaigns that fuel employee engagement, guide access to assets and resources, increase cross-functional connectivity, and build a connected culture.
  • Collaborates with CDT leadership to determine communications strategy and priorities that promote development of an agility mindset across the organization.
  • Work in partnership with Portfolio Management, Product Management, Program Management to understand the business cases for large initiatives, and craft strategies that will increase adoption of newly released technologies within the business teams. Recommend training engagement where appropriate.
  • Writes and delivers impactful communication campaigns that support a vibrant and informed CDT community.
  • Documents KPIs to measure and improve performance in key focus areas.

YOU ARE

  • Creative: Routinely envisions unique solutions and approaches to communications related needs.
  • A communications and stakeholder management expert: You communicate difficult concepts and negotiate with others to adopt a different point of view. You convert CDT information into compelling context and advice to drive engagement.
  • Expert in PowerPoint, Miro, and Axios. Skilled in and video editing and ghost writing.
  • A collaborative professional who can develop relationships and comfortably navigate a cross-functional work environment.
  • An advanced communicator and storyteller with the ability to communicate clearly at multiple organizational levels scaling VPs, Directors, Digital Product Managers and Scrum Leads, both in Digital and in Business Partner organizations.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment with tolerance for ambiguity
  • Able to balance and prioritize multiple tasks and demands simultaneously, working towards weekly and monthly priorities

YOU HAVE

  • A growth mindset
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred OR related experience
  • Typically requires 8+ years of work experience with 4+ in areas of digital communications management, preferably in retail technology
  • Demonstrated strong initiative, facilitation, and delivery skills
  • Comprehensive understanding of the Agile principles and methodologies and familiarity with enterprise level agile portfolio management systems
  • Previous work with other cultures in a business setting, and awareness of and sensitivity to cultural differences
  • Primary role is an individual contributor however may also manage a small team of one or two employees if required.
