Position Summary

Avantax is seeking a Digital Communications Specialist II who will collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop ideas and strategy, create and edit content, manage social media content calendars, and maintain social media channels including LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, Glassdoor and other online content sharing sites. This role will also manage digital campaigns, update website content, and stay up to date on social media trends and best practices. The ideal candidate should have a degree in public relations, marketing, communications, or journalism, 3+ years of relevant work experience, and outstanding time management skills.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Communication initiatives include, but are not limited to:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams around to amplify content and develop ideas, copy, content, and strategy on social media.
  • Work with the internal creative team to develop images / creative marketing assets and edit templated imagery within brand guidelines.
  • Manage the social media content calendar, scheduling, and posting across social platforms including LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, and Glassdoor.
  • Maintain responsibility for all social media channels, including developing campaigns, growing followers, and increasing engagement and interaction.
  • Manage strategy, development, budget, and optimization of paid social and digital campaigns.
  • Maintain and optimize company pages within each platform to increase the visibility of the company's social content.
  • Assist in digital content updates including website, news articles, new product content, videos, email campaigns, keywords, and analytics.
  • Stay up to date on social media best practices, trends, and tactics.
  • Other duties as assigned

Communications Strategy and Execution:

  • Ensure the communications strategy aligns with corporate growth initiatives.
  • Responsible for identifying, developing, and capitalizing on opportunities to strengthen the Avantax brand through the company's communication channels.
  • Assist in celebrating the successes of employees, affiliated firms, and organizations across all communication channels.
  • Other job duties as defined.

Education & Experience

  • Degree in public relations, marketing, communications, or journalism.
  • 3+ years of relevant work experience, agency or corporate.
  • Communications expertise, outstanding time management skills, and a passion for public relations and social media.
  • Graphic design and video content creation are a plus.
  • Understanding of Compliance requirements within the Financial Services industry is a plus.
  • Basic HTML coding, video editing, and digital marketing skills (e.g., Salesforce, Pardot) are a plus.

Physical Demands & Work Effort

  • Keying/typing, sitting, standing, walking.
  • Constant mental and/or visual attention; the work is either repetitive or diversified requiring constant alertness in an office environment.
  • The job is typically performed under comfortable working conditions; any disagreeable elements are generally absent during normal performance of the job.
  • Compliance with company attendance standards.

Comprehensive Benefits

We offer a competitive salary, and an outstanding benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, life insurance, paid vacation and sick days, paid holidays, tuition reimbursement, and 401(k) with the company.

Base Salary Range:

$55,000 - $77,000; Variable incentive compensation eligible.

The salary range shown is representative of what Avantax expects to pay for this job. Actual salary may vary based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and geographic location.
