JOB SUMMARY
The Digital Content Creator produces various forms of innovative, engaging, and shareable content including web, blogs, lead generation, video scripts, and email. In addition, this position will write magazine articles, executive speeches, and sales brochure copy as assigned. This creative contributor understands how content impacts SEO and SEM strategies and has experience collaborating with a team in a corporate marketing environment. This individual is capable of creating content autonomously and is resourceful in repurposing existing content from other resources. The Digital Content Creator is an excellent wordsmith but can also show a visual story through multimedia.
PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
• Creates magazine articles and blog posts and identifies linking opportunities from other articles, blogs, and social media
• Strong collaborator who can creatively market our brand
• Learns the voice of different brands and crafts content that engages the reader and meets project objectives
• Makes updates to content on internal and consumer-facing sites as needed or scheduled
- Proofreads copy to ensure accuracy and quality; adheres to and enforces Style Guide to all content; makes edits as needed and confirms all content is consistent in grammar, punctuation, formatting, and spelling
Required Skills
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
• Proven work experience as a Content Creator, Copywriter or similar role
• Portfolio of published articles
• Hands-on experience with Content and Project Management Systems (e.g. WordPress, Workfront, Kentico)
• Excellent writing and editing skills in English
• An ability to fact-check long-form content pieces
• Self-starter with excellent time-management skills
• Comfortable with researching topics and statistics to support featured content
• Familiarity with SEO a plus
Required Experience
EDUCATION & WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
• B.A. in Journalism, English, Communications, Social Media, Digital Marketing, or Public Relations from a four-year college or university.
• Must have 3 to 5 years professional content creation
• Proficient in video editing and graphic design software. Knowledgeable in content management systems.
