Your Impact:

Oprah Daily seeks a talented, versatile Digital Designer to collaborate with our creative team to support the multiplatform lifestyle brand from Oprah Winfrey and Hearst Magazines. Under the leadership of the Design Director, the Digital Designer will be primarily responsible for developing designs for the brand's multiple social channels as well as contributing graphics across the platform as needed. This role requires a highly motivated and creative individual who can bring technical expertise to the job while operating within the framework of our style guidelines. As a member of this fast-paced collaborative team, you will work in close partnership with the art department, story editors, photo editors and illustrators to conceptualize and create innovative and captivating world-class visuals.

Responsibilities:

  • Design assets and graphics for Oprah Daily and Oprah Book Club social channels.
  • Create visual campaigns surrounding each launch of a new Oprah Book Club selection.
  • Contribute to projects as needed for the daily website and ongoing video series.
  • Create motion-driven assets, both in video and short-form.
  • Work on projects from concept to post-production, making sure deadlines are met, and brand standards are upheld, while keeping track of how content performs.
  • Collaborate with internal and external team members and editors to design visuals that drive engagement, and ensure key information is incorporated into designs.
Qualifications:

  • Bachelors in fine art, graphic design, or similar discipline
  • 3-5+ years of experience as a digital designer, preferably on the social media team of a brand, or a similar role
  • Understanding of social media principles, performance and traffic and best practices
  • Strong understanding of typography, hierarchy and composition
  • Fluent in the full Adobe Creative Suite and Figma. Special consideration given to candidates with motion graphics experience.
  • Strong relationships with illustrators. An aptitude for illustration and photo collage is a plus
  • Must have a collaborative attitude, be a quick, detail-oriented, resourceful learner, who is technically curious, open and receptive to feedback
  • Excellent communications, presentation and problem-solving skills
The base salary for this role is between $63,000 and $77,000. The actual base pay offered is dependent upon many factors, such as: transferable skills, work experience, business needs and market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future
