As a Digital Editor on the RUN team you will:

• Be immersed in all aspects of the sport of running as part of the RUN team with a thorough, almost insider understanding of the sport in road, trail, track, and general fitness
• Ability to pick up on run-related trends in mainstream media and capitalize quickly on hot topics
• Ability to identify, report, and write quick-hit stories
• Ability to identify, edit and develop longer-form cultural storytelling in line with the zeitgeist, current trends, communities and the growth of the sport, alongside cultural insights into the future of the sport. 

Responsibilities:

• Identifying run-related trending mainstream topics and writing/assigning content
• Assigning/managing regularly recurring columns
• Assigning/managing content serving the RUN audience in the areas of: Training, Injuries and Prevention, and Nutrition
• Posting website content on social platforms (during live events) and/or collaborating with Social Media team to ensure timely social content 
• Producing a weekly email newsletter and breaking news content for emails as assigned
• Assign, write and edit running news-related articles for the section, alongside articles in other key categories of the RUN site including news, culture, training and gear.
• Ensure assigned editorial articles are set up in the project management platform and in the payment portal.
• Attend monthly, bi-weekly editorial meetings to ensure a balanced editorial calendar across all areas of the RUN site
• As required, represent RUN in person at key events in the race and industry calendar. 
• Be involved in editorial event coverage planning and execution

Qualifications:

• 5+ years experience assigning stories and working with writers
• Reporting—evaluating/interviewing sources
• Experience editing and providing timely feedback to writers
• Experience creating or assigning social copy and assets as needed
• Digital production publishing experience, including optimizing content employing SEO best practices.

Remote jobs and those jobs that can be located in Boulder, Colorado: Employees can expect to be paid a salary between $52,000 to $62,000. Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission. Other benefits include health care, vision, dental, retirement, Flexible Time Away, sick leave, and many more. The salary range displayed is specifically for those potential hires who will work or reside in the state of Colorado if selected for this role, and may vary based on market data/ranges, an applicant’s skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications, and other relevant factors
