Job Description

AECOM is seeking a skilled Digital & Engineering Technology Intern II to be based in our Houston, Chicago, or Raleigh offices.

This position is expected to begin May/June 2023. This will be a full-time internship with the estimated duration of 10-12 weeks.

Job Overview:

AECOM is actively seeking a skilled student to join our Digital EHS Practice as an Intern. Our work is interdisciplinary, so a wide variety of majors are acceptable. This position supports clients by providing implementation, configuration, guidance, and support for software to protect the environment and keep workers safe. A successful candidate will have a passion for sustainability and safety while demonstrating strong technical skills and a desire to learn and adopt new technologies to meet project requirements. The position also requires work in both self-directed and team-based collaboration scenarios where critical thinking and problem-solving skills are essential.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Configure, extend, and modify software used for environmental and safety purposes under supervision of an AECOM mentor
  • Understand what clients need from their EHS solutions and work with specialists to present options for how to accomplish it
  • Suggest innovative solutions for client requirements
  • Initiate contact with mentors and coworkers to work through problems and questions
  • Engage with coworkers and clients throughout the US and Canada as well as a local AECOM office to build understanding of the business
Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Management Information Systems, Occupational Health & Safety, or a related field
  • Must have completed 2 years of study in relevant degree program
  • Due to the nature of work, U.S. Citizenship is required
Preferred Qualifications:

  • Skilled knowledge and experience using the Microsoft Office products, specifically Word and Excel
  • Experience in with performing data management tasks such as analyzing data sets, manipulating diverse sets to a common state aligning them, or detecting and cleansing data of potential errors
  • Experience with reporting tools such as Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services, Adobe, Tableau, etc
  • Experience with using, modifying, and writing code (e.g., Python, Java, SQL, XML, R, C#, M,)
  • Coursework or internships involving procedure automation, such as with Azure PowerApps or a similar product
Additional Information

  • Relocation and sponsorship are not available for this position
  • The position is "in office" with a global team so multiple locations are considered. Specifically, AECOM Houston, AECOM Raleigh, AECOM Chicago
  • Travel is required for this position. Candidates will be asked to submit a Motor Vehicle Record screening upon hire
