Digital Engineering Transformation Senior Project Engineer

Aerospace is seeking an innovative and proactive Senior Project Engineer in the Digital Engineering Transformation (DET) Office within the Space Systems Architect Division. The Digital Engineering Transformation Office is focused on leading and managing Aerospace efforts in support of the customer's Digital Engineering/ Transformation branch in Enterprise Interoperability within the Space Systems Integration Office. This role includes developing architecture models, data integration techniques, and applying visualizations to engineer and evaluate an integrated space systems enterprise for SSC and DoD.
The DET program office Senior Project Engineer will lead a system-of-systems level architectural analysis and development to achieve the vision of a fully digital engineered Space Force. This vision spans the gamut from model-based systems engineering, building libraries of workflows, identifying the Authoritative Source of Truth (ASOT) data and metadata that rides along with a system across the product/acquisition lifecycle to streamline the systems engineering artifacts and products that drive decision making. This is a cross-cutting opportunity to significantly influence how the Space Systems Center and USSF conduct and perform the business of space systems acquisition!
What You'll Be Doing
- Development and employment of tools for system-of-system engineering (SoSE) and architecting, resilient systems engineering, cost/efficiency analysis, and exploitation/integration with commercial capabilities
- Architecture model development of pathfinder models and example illustrations
- Developing the behavior model specification to capture mission scenarios, behavior model specification of behaviors in model composition pattern
- Developing data integrations (e.g., interface with Warp Core, databases including triple data stores)
- Developing HTML visualizations/views of the SoSE and architecture products; dashboard development
- Collaboration across SMC, other government agencies, FFRDCs and SETAs
What You Need to be Successful - Senior Project Engineer
Minimum Requirements:
- MS or PhD degree in engineering, computer science, or related field
- Typically requires 12 years relevant dynamic work experience in agile software development, systems architecture, systems integration and/or systems engineering
- Experience with systems architecting tools such as Cameo, Sparx EA, or other similar tools
- Broad familiarity with the Space Systems Command, Intelligence Community, Civil, and commercial space systems, ground systems, missions, and architectures
- High interest, enthusiasm, and motivation in addressing future national space security challenges
- Willingness to work in high pace environment and lead teams with diverse technical backgrounds
- Some travel may be required
- Current Top-Secret clearance is required
How You Can Stand Out
It would be impressive if you have one or more of these:
- Proficiency with data and tool integration/interoperability, cloud-based technologies (e.g., web-based API development) and collaboration environments (e.g., the Atlassian suite)
- Small team leadership experience
- Technical achievement in concept exploration, analysis, architecting, or prototyping, demonstration, and program planning
- Experience with digital engineering implementation with a government customer
- Involvement with USSF missions and architectures
- Ability to teach and engage others to adopt new practices and tools

The grade-based pay range for this job is listed below. Individual salaries within that range are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge and skills.

$122,952 - $202,011 - $281,070
