Job Description

Come create the technology that helps the world act together

Nokia is committed to innovation and technology leadership across mobile, fixed and cloud networks. Your career here will have a positive impact on people's lives and will help us build the capabilities needed for a more productive, sustainable, and inclusive world. We challenge ourselves to create an inclusive way of working where we are open to new ideas, empowered to take risks and fearless to bring our authentic selves to work.

The team you'll be part of

Our Business Group is a leader in wireless mobility networks and associated services. With more than 3.500 patent families essential for 5G we have a strong 5G portfolio and are a front runner in open and virtualized radio access networks (O-RAN and vRAN).

You will join the MN RF Development Unit and will enjoy our culture of innovation, openness, discipline, simplicity, accountability, and profit mindset. Your future teams are developing Nokia 3GPP mainstream radio technology products and solutions including cross-technology responsibility (Multi Radio Access Technology).

The team you'll be part of

We are looking for motivated engineers to be part of a team that is responsible for digital circuit design within the hardware development of Cellular Radios for 5G NR / mMIMO / mmWAVE applications.

What you will learn and contribute to

We are currently seeking engineers with experience in digital design and clocking. Digital design activities will be with embedded systems and circuits utilizing DDR, multi- gigabit high speed serial (SERDES) links, ethernet communication, and control paths including I2C & SPI interfaces.

Clocking activities relate to architectures utilizing digital frequency synthesis, PLLs, low phase noise clocks, and reference oscillators used for the generation of high-quality clocks of various frequencies.

The candidate will be involved in all areas of embedded system and circuit design from following an architecture and requirements input to development / functional implementation (including circuit layout). Designs will be simulated/evaluated for functional performance, signal integrity, power supply sensitivity and integrated into the final product by interfacing with RF, Digital, and Software design teams. These teams may be within the local design center or other Nokia design centers around the world. You will participate in analysis and solving complex engineering problems.

Knowledge in Siemens Expedition (design), Hyperlynx (simulation), high speed oscilloscopes, and circuit/interface compliance testing is preferred.

The primary design work is at the board level though a working knowledge of FPGAs, embedded processors, Linux, and programming languages like Python can prove helpful as they are often part of the design and test efforts.

Must be able to travel internationally to support prototype manufacturing and/or customer deployments.

Education:

Bachelors' degree in Electrical Engineering and/or a related Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) discipline.
