Data science interns will work closely with the Buckman data science global COE team, IoT engineers and multi-disciplinary team in collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data sets to drive optimization and improvement of product development across various process industries. Data science interns assist data scientists in data mining, data analysis, data visualization, and report writing. They apply their math skills, statistical knowledge, and programming skills to guide strategic decision making. Data science interns help develop custom data models and algorithms to apply to data sets and coordinate with different functional teams to implement models and monitor outcomes.
Candidates for this role should have excellent math skills and a good understanding of programming languages such as Python, R, and SQL. A specialization in data science fields such as data engineering, data architecture, data analysis, or statistics is highly desirable.
The ideal candidate is creative, a quick learner, and thrives in a multi-disciplinary, dynamic environment. A data science internship is about gaining hands-on experience and using your skills to solve business problems. Minimum requirement to apply
A Junior, Senior or a Masters candidates in one of the following areas are preferred:
Digital dexterity: must be a "digital native" who is comfortable using digital tools and solutions, has a basic level of understanding required to interface with the digital professionals, and has the aptitude and willingness to learn and grow in this area
Strong communications skills in English and ability to communicate across all levels of the organization
