Digital Marketing Intern

Role Overview:

We are looking for an enthusiastic marketing intern to join our team and provide creative ideas to help achieve our goals. As a digital marketing intern, you will collaborate with our Director of Growth Marketing in developing and implementing lead generation strategies, as well as conducting research projects on our customer base and the self-service retail industry. This internship will help you acquire valuable marketing skills and provide you with knowledge of various marketing strategies. Ultimately, you will gain broad experience in digital marketing and should be prepared to enter any fast-paced work environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Research how emerging trends and features can benefit our company.
  • Help build, manage, and optimize lead generation channels towards the company's goals and objectives.
  • Monitor, analyze, and report on campaign results and make recommendations on how to optimize campaign performance.

Requirements:

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university
  • Strong desire to learn along with professional drive
  • Self-starter capable of working independently and in a team environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Effective working knowledge of standard office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc)
  • Passion for the marketing industry and its best practices
  • Familiarity with marketing computer software and online applications preferable (e.g. CRM tools, marketing automation tools, Google analytics, etc.)
  • Solid understanding of different marketing techniques preferable

Internally Facing Project Plan:

  • Familiarize self with company
    1. Learn about products, services, and competitors

  • Training Session:
    1. Goal: Introduce intern to company goals, departmental goals, organizational structure, they fit into the organization, tools used, how to best ask questions (and get help)
    2. Example questions answered:
      • What are our main products? What do they do?
      • What do our main customers look like?
      • Who are a few of our main accounts?
      • Who are our competitors, how do their products compare to ours?
      • What are the main publications for our industry?
    3. Duration: 1-2 days

  • Competitive Analysis Research Project
    1. Goal: Learn about the industry, provide useful insight on competitors
    2. Intern conducts independent research project, then presents finds to Demand Generation Manager
    3. Example topics:
      • Ad comparisons
      • Trends within customer base
    4. Duration: 1 week

  • Assist/Shadow creation of digital ads
    1. Intern to help ideate, gather info, and manage digital advertisements.

  • Presentation
    1. Gather data on published ads; determine outcomes and findings
    2. Outline findings and present to Demand Generation Manager
