What you will do

Johnson Controls invites you to apply for an internship located in Milwaukee, Wi This internship is designed to provide you with a positive work/training experience and challenging objectives. Specific identified internship responsibilities are outlined below. As a Digital Marketing intern, students will support marketing programs across the Fire Suppression And Detection Products Business Unit. Interns participate in a variety assignment in disciplines including but not limited to: website updates, email and social media marketing campaigns, sales support, marketing analytics and reporting, development of presentation materials and trade show preparation. Students are given the opportunity to expand their basic knowledge in the areas of sales, marketing, and product development. Interns interact with supervisors, project leaders, sales, and marketing staff daily.

How you will do it:

  • Assist Marketing Managers with tactical execution of marketing programs. As a key part of the marketing team, student will gain valuable insight into business-to-business sales support, customer support programs, digital initiatives, public relations, and trade show / event marketing.
  • Students will assist with projects that require them to engage directly with sales force and outside support teams such as advertising agencies, photographers, and design agencies. Emphasis will be on "self-starter" approach, as such, students will be encouraged to take the lead on these projects.
  • Students may work on social media, public relations and other marketing projects including updating website content, editing and coordinating distribution of emails, communicating with internal customers and outside vendors, creating customer presentations, coordinating product and other photography.
  • Support, develop and execute marketing campaigns in variety of marketing tools - marketing automation, CRM, social platforms, etc.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as requested or required.

What we look for:

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate rising junior or senior in pursuit of degree in field directly related to marketing, communications, digital and social media
  • Strong technical aptitude
  • Highly organized, detailed-oriented and with strong planning, execution and time management skills
  • Excellent English language communications skills - written and verbal
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills, as well as an articulate and friendly problem-solving attitude
  • Confident, able to speak up in meetings and work with a team of diverse talent
  • Background in using digital marketing tools preferred - marketing automation, social platforms, CRM, etc.

Required Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled as a full-time student at an accredited U.S. college or university
  • Pursuing a degree in Computer Science or related fields
  • Currently a sophomore or higher status
  • GPA requirement 3.0
  • Proficient with Excel, Work, PowerPoint
  • 40 Hours/week
  • Working towards a bachelor's Digital Marketing, or a related field
  • Strong problem-solving ability
  • Be a communicator and collaborate with other software engineers
  • U.S. citizen or legal right to work in the U.S.
