Join us and lead projects focused on improving health outcomes through measurement used in NCQA, Federal, State and private sector programs. Your contributions will highlight the quality of care impacting over 203 million individuals in the US. You will work as a key member of our Team of Research and Data Scientists, Directors, Analysts and Clinician-leaders to develop new risk-adjusted health care quality measures, improve our current portfolio of outcome measures and inform the strategies that will create a high performing and equitable health system.

The Digital Measure Programmer I will provide project operations support for projects related to the development, evaluation and implementation of digital quality measure initiatives, externally funded projects and other NCQA programs. Major responsibilities include: Working with measure development teams to translate measure specifications into digital logic and creating synthetic patient data for testing measure logic. The Digital Measure Programmer I communicates with internal and external customers. This is an entry level programming position. The ideal candidate possesses interest and/or curiosity about programming and coding. This is a full-time position with flexible work options.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Support digital measure development activities:
    • Develop drafts of project deliverables including reports for consumers, purchasers and regulators, and technical specifications.
    • Plan and manage project tasks. Accountable for quality and timely completion of work.
    • Assist with organizing project meetings.
    • Aid in proofreading, editing and production of reports, proposals, and presentations.
  • Support the development of project deliverables and the management of projects. This will include:

    • Develop drafts of project deliverables including measure code, header information, test cases, and other documentation to explain the measure calculation.
    • Plan and manage project tasks.
    • Accountable for quality and timely completion of work.
    • Assist with organizing project meetings.
    • Aid in proofreading, editing and production of reports, proposals, and presentations.
  • Customer service and communication
    • Draft internal communication (written and oral)
    • Draft and help finalize external communications (written and oral)
    • Assist in internal presentations


Requirements:

  • Certificate in a relevant health care field or programming course
  • 0-2 years of experience in a health care field or with electronic medical records (digital health data) or programming
  • Demonstrated ability to work successfully in a team environment.
  • Experience with CQL, or another programming language (ex. Python, React, SQL, Javascript, HTML, Java) in a professional or academic setting
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and ability to perform several tasks/projects simultaneously with an uncompromising level of attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel spreadsheet applications, and PowerPoint
