Job Description

The Digital Modernization Office (DMO) is the control tower and heart of our digital modernization. The DMO focuses on the high priority, transformative initiatives, drives cross-enterprise coordination and alignment, provides enterprise transparency and directly engages to address critical issues with senior leadership cross-BU; Providing a strategic, independent, unbiased perspective while cultivating a transformation mindset

Reporting to the head of DMO, the Strategic Portfolio Manager is a critical role responsible for driving an enterprise-wide portfolio shaping process that defines strategic priorities, ensures programs and associated dependencies have an appropriate funding model in place, establishes effective program intake controls based on objective factors (e.g., TCO, ROI, OKRs) to inform strategic program decisions, and maintains enterprise-wide portfolio and dependency transparency. In addition to leading strategic 'special projects' in conjunction with senior leadership and cross functional DMO core team

Responsibilities:

  • Work with DMO leadership, to set priorities for the program; define and drive the weekly DMO cadence and lead "special projects" as defined, assigned and prioritized by head of DMO
  • Support DMO leadership with ideation and problem-solving including surfacing dependencies, issues, risks and key decision points, gathering data and performing analysis as required to make informed decisions and drive recommendations to BU leadership and management group as needed
  • lead the Quarterly Business Review (QBR) processes including establishing and facilitating forums and associated meetings, providing templates and training as required and holding office hours to answer questions and provide guidance
  • Review and challenge program proposals for business case value, OKRs and alignment with business priorities
  • Maintain enterprise source of truth for cross-BU dependencies with links to business impact analysis and Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) as part of DMO dashboards to provide enterprise transparency
  • Provide guidance and support for program planning including business case development in conjunction with Impact zone owners across prioritized digital modernization initiatives
  • Continuously monitor health of prioritized Impact Zone portfolio for roadblocks, risks and dependencies support issue resolution in conjunction with DMO leadership
  • Develop prioritization recommendations for key high impact initiatives to drive strategic and cross-program alignment including cross impact zone business cases as required

Required skills:

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
  • Comfortable with ambiguity, with a change agent challenger mentality with ability to challenge the status quo
  • Adept at problem solving, with sound business judgment and strong analytical skills
  • Ability to excel in a cross functional environment working with senior executives
  • Proactive process management skills, highly organized with an eye for detail
  • Background and business knowledge in Asset Servicing, Wealth Mgmt. or Asset Mgmt. industry required; technology background a plus
  • Experience with large complex enterprise-wide change initiatives
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Excel, PowerPoint), Power BI, PPM, Azure boards or similar tools a plus

Recommended:

  • Prior experience in strategy or management consulting
  • Background in data management, data visualization, and dashboard development

Qualifications:

  • 15+ year of relevant experience.
  • Master's degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field (business, economics, statistics)
