STATUS: EXEMPT

REPORT TO: VICE PRESIDENT-DIGITAL PLATFORMS

PAY SCALE: $120,600.00 - $135,000.00 ANNUALLY

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

The Digital Product Owner-Digital Platforms will be responsible for managing the product backlog to ensure that Golden 1 achieves maximum value from delivery teams by working with stakeholders to create a vision, communicating that product vision to the delivery team and stakeholders, and prioritizing work items against that vision. The product owner will work on member facing platforms such as Golden1.com, The product Owner will effectively manage the ongoing conflicting needs of various stakeholders and aligns stakeholders on the roadmap. Working in a dynamic environment, leads or serves on cross-functional teams to develop competitive products, experiences and services that deliver value for our members and efficiency for the company. Uses frameworks and data to develop a deep understanding of member and stakeholder needs and wants, to identify and fill product, feature set and experience gaps, manage a roadmap and generate new ideas that improve the member experience and ultimately strengthen Golden 1's position in its aspirations to be the best digital credit union in California.

TASKS, DUTIES, FUNCTIONS:

  1. Plan and prioritize product development and product feature backlog.
  2. Develop detailed product feature specifications and ensure they're clearly understood by relevant teams.
  3. Assess value, develop cases, and prioritize stories, epics, and themes to ensure work aligns with product strategy.
  4. Mitigate roadblocks to achieve sprint/release goals.
  5. Lead the product-release plans and set expectations for delivery of new functionalities.
  6. Serve as product ambassador internally and externally, sharing knowledge and answering questions.
  7. The Digital Product Owner-Digital Platforms is responsible for managing the digital aspects of the credit union's interactive self-service tools and platforms across sales, acquisition, onboarding and self-service platforms and digital channels.
  8. Defines, delivers, and manages a digital experience roadmap for the above-mentioned product portfolio across the relevant digital channels with input from key stakeholders across the organization.
  9. Manages the lifecycle of relevant Golden 1 digital services, milestones, new features, and functionality.
  10. Supports ongoing projects, understands product design, drives development, and creates a seamless, convenient, positive experience for members and employees.
  11. Provides input into product vision, goal setting, execution, and product roll-out strategies.
  12. Uses data and personas to uncover opportunities, tracks digital performance, and informs product design and development decisions to drive digital adoption and performance.
  13. Assists and guides business partners in developing business requirements, timelines, milestones, and dependencies.
  14. Leads or works closely with cross-functional teams on requirements and drives user experience design and journey discussions.
  15. Coordinates with other functional teams to support communication about digital initiatives and the creation of member facing collateral.
  16. Identifies possible automated or digital solutions for customer issues and establish success criteria and measurable results.
  17. Maintains a thorough understanding of state and federal laws and regulations related to credit union compliance including bank secrecy and anti-money laundering laws
  18. Ensures alignment at all times key stakeholders (IT, Operations, Fraud, and Marketing) to deliver a cohesive, brand-right and superior member and employee experience.
  19. Performs other duties as needed by management.

PHYSICAL SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND EXERTION UTILIZED IN THE PERFORMANCE OF THESE TASK:

  1. Effective oral and written communication skills required to varying levels of analytical daily tasks.
  2. Must possess sufficient manual dexterity to skillfully operate standard office equipment such as a personal computer, VOIP telephone, printers, scanners, etc.

ORGANIZATIONAL CONTACTS & RELATIONSHIPS:

  1. INTERNAL: All levels of staff.
  2. EXTERNAL: Vendors, management, other financial institutions, and other contact centers.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree in Product Management, Business Administration, IT, or related field preferred.
  2. EXPERIENCE: Minimum of 7 or more years experience in Product Management preferably in financial services; two years+ experience in web online or mobile banking is a plus.
  3. KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS:
    • Demonstrated skills in prioritization, stakeholder alignment and project planning.
    • In-depth knowledge of agile methodology for project management.
  • Understanding of business value related to features and functions
  • Strong thought leadership required to manage the development and growth of products.
  • Leadership skills to manage and work with cross-functional business partners and team.
  • Demonstrated experience in successful application of the Jobs-To-Be-Done framework to solving complex ebusiness problems and driving performance.
  • Excellent written/verbal communication skills are essential, as this position will have exposure to various management levels across the organization. Ability to adapt to an environment that is in a growth mode and pivot as needed to meet goals and as priorities shift.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Prolonged sitting throughout the workday with occasional mobility required.
  2. Corrected vision within the normal range.
  3. Hearing within normal range. A device to enhance hearing will be provided if needed.
  4. Occasional movements throughout the department daily to interact with staff, accomplish tasks, etc.
  5. Required to be on call 24 hours a day, seven days a week, to ensure timely and appropriate resolution of any issue that may arise regarding resources under scope of responsibility.
