Digital Product Director

Key Responsibilities:

• Shape product strategy and overall commercial potential of Alcon's Vision Care Digital Health platforms and related applications via management of planning, prioritization, specification, acceptance, and education processes for all product features
• Develop a deep understanding of digital health solutions needed in eye care, customer needs, market trends, technology trends, identification and assessment of growth opportunities to create strategies to bring products to market
• Create customer value through incremental transformation of new and existing digital assets
• Ability to understand complex technical concepts and effectively communicate recommendations to stakeholders across the organization with varying levels of technical and digital understanding
• Institute governance and controls to standardize product management processes and migration of disparate digital solutions onto a new Enterprise Product Platform
• Serve as a subject matter authority in the Agile methodology and create workflows and tools used to implement the product roadmap across the software development lifecycle
• Validate product requirements, use cases and user stories, develop product lifecycle plans, and drive release schedules in partnership with technical leads
• Oversee the backlog of improvements and defects, defining the requirements and acceptance criteria
• Partner with Project Managers to ensure timely delivery of product capabilities to market
• Oversee the development of detailed project plans created by Project Managers and provide updates on a consistent basis to various stakeholders about strategy, adjustments, and progress
• Stay current with latest trends in digital health

Key Competencies:

• Successful track record of delivering medical digital health and platform solutions to market
• Highly skilled and experienced in high quality product delivery, including planning, dependency management, and delivery execution & governance
• Ability to assess risk and identify key team members necessary to remove barriers
• Collaborative: an open and respectful executive who is perceived as a welcome addition to -- and natural leader for -- cross-functional teams
• Cross-cultural sensitivity is critically important; a record of accomplishment of hands-on success in more than one market would be ideal
• Forward-thinking, "quick strategic thinker" who can easily provide the strategic franchise direction to thought leaders and other high performing marketing, technical professionals and/or executive level professionals

Key Performance Indicators:

• Delivery of roadmap features that are intuitive and on time
• Attainment against outlined KPIs/OKRs
• Achievement of key team objectives and outlined business results
• Development of team members

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent years of directly related experience (or high school+15 yrs; Assoc.+11 yrs; M.S.+7 yrs; PhD+3 yrs)

• 10-12 years of related leadership experience that may include the following: product ownership on medical device software projects, project management experience on healthcare information technology software projects, etc. in a matrix organization

Preferred Requirements:

• Familiarity with JIRA
• Experience in healthcare or eye care is a plus
