The Mathematica Products Team is focused on building products to support research projects at Mathematica. This team is creating tools and platforms to collect, analyze and visualize data to support several use cases in research project lifecycle. You will help us drive our objective of delivering business value through delivery of these products.
As the Digital Product Manager on the Mathematica Products Team, you'll help drive the implementation of products and platforms in the roadmap. You will lead the products' evolution based on user feedback, business objectives and technology advances. You'll work in a collaborative, cross-functional environment with engineering, enterprise architecture, research, and data science experts to create the platform that will drive research at Mathematica and advance our mission.
While most of the Products team works in the Princeton office, we are open to candidates working in other Mathematica offices or working remotely. However, remote candidates will be expected to make quarterly visits to either the Princeton, NJ or Washington, DC office.
Responsibilities:
- Gather, prioritize, and document requirements and facilitate the trade-off process during requirement definition and reviews to ensure releases are delivered against business objectives
- Conduct market/user research to learn unmet needs, competitor intel and market segmentation/sizing to maintain value prop and differentiation for Mathematica
- Identify experiments to validate solutions and strategies in collaboration with partners in business units
- Identify and mitigate risks, track progress, resolve conflicts, ensure quality and report on status
- Facilitate regular feedback sessions with Products team, Data Analysts, Business Units and external users to capture diverse use cases
- Stay informed to identify new technologies, tools, workflows to evolve our products/platforms
- Set up and monitor dashboards to track key metrics and guide feature prioritization accordingly
- Evangelize products across Mathematica and support internal customers in its use
Position Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field
- 5+ years product management experience
- A combination of equivalent education and work experience may be substituted for the above requirement
- Experience with SaaS services, AWS Infrastructure and services, data products, reporting and analytics tools preferred
- Requires in-depth knowledge and/or breadth of experience with UX/UI and web development
- Solid understanding of SDLC and experience working in Agile teams
- Experience partnering with engineering teams on an internal platform to deliver enhanced business capabilities and efficiencies
- Experience managing development partners/external vendors for delivery
- Demonstrated ability to partner with multiple internal and external stakeholders and communicate across multiple levels of the organization
- Experience with change management governance processes, rolling out new tools or capabilities, including training/supporting cross-functional internal customers
- Partner with HR, Communications, and Business Units to deliver organizational change management for products including training, communications, and marketing plans
- Excellent communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills to clearly communicate and lead a diverse, multi-disciplinary team
- Ability to translate technical concepts to a business and non-technical audience
- Strong work ethic, integrity, and collaborative approach to work
- Willingness to roll up your sleeves and get things done
- Ability to travel to Princeton, NJ or Washington, DC at least on a quarterly basis
