Description

The Infrastructure Engineer will build, manage, and improve the infrastructure systems providing services in support of the day-to-day operations, critical projects, and strategic growth of the business.

Responsibilities of the Infrastructure Engineer will include the support and operation of all switches, routers, firewalls, physical and VMware virtual infrastructure, telephone system, email, web/application/database servers, mobile management, network attached storage devices (SANs) as well as public cloud servers and services. The Infrastructure Engineer is responsible for proactively identifying and correcting deficiencies and improving overall IT infrastructure performance and efficiency.

The Infrastructure Engineer will also be responsible for creating and updating infrastructure documentation, systems assessments, and reporting results. The Infrastructure Engineer will collaborate closely with other members of the team to support the company and our employees.

Requirements

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Proactively gather information and utilize analytical and creative problem-solving skills, alongside standard processes, and technologies, to create efficient, secure, and reliable solutions for the business
  • Provide general and routine maintenance support including installation, patching, configuration, back-ups, and updates
  • Function as the subject matter expert for the entire technology ecosystem
  • Create and maintain documents for procedures/processes and infrastructure architecture/topology diagrams
  • Collaborate with team members and software vendors to design, implement, and test systems
  • Accountable for use of services, handling of sensitive data, and resolving incidents
  • Researches and stays current with advances in technologies; recommends change and updates accordingly
  • Identifies areas of improvement and proactively suggests changes
  • ?Manages production and pre-production technology systems in a hybrid cloud/datacenter environment
  • Responsible for automating building systems and deploying applications
  • Creates additional automation by scripting repetitive tasks
  • Designs, manages, and supports Active Directory and related services (Directory Services, DHCP, DFS, DNS, GPO)
  • Respond tickets and all issues in a timely manner according to response SLA
  • Creates and updates network documentation, performs network assessments and reports results according to compliance standards
  • Architect and engineer all technical resources (network, server, storage, packaged applications)
  • Tune and refine existing systems to reduce Service desk workload by preventing tickets from recurring
  • Work with vendors to quote and deliver performant and cost-efficient solutions
  • Attend weekly Infrastructure Team meetings to discuss progression through assigned engineering efforts and collaborate with others in the department

Technical Expertise, Experience and Education

1. 5+ year's experience in broad/generalist IT functions [network, hardware, application, server] is required.

2. 3+ year's experience with enterprise grade networking equipment, Experience with Cisco routing/switching configuration and troubleshooting

3. 3+ year's experience with virtualization technology (KVM, VMWare, Hyper-V)

4. 5+ year's experience in Microsoft server and O365 administration is required.

5. 3+ year's of experience with cloud infrastructure, in either AWS or Azure environment

6. Shell or batch file scripting language software, MS Server 2016-2022, general networking, MS debugging tools, , Unix/Linux is preferred

7. Strong system administration (Linux/Unix or Windows) at the command-line level.

8. Experience in financial services or banking is preferred.

9. Education: Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or related field is preferred.

10. Certification: ITIL, Microsoft, or other industry certifications preferred.

Employment:

• This role is based out of Lakewood Ohio (Greater Cleveland). Local employment is ideal; however, we are accepting full-remote candidates willing to travel to the home office on an as-needed basis.

• Employment eligibility to work with First Mutual Holding Co. in the U.S. is required as the company will not pursue visa sponsorship for these positions.

• The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to twenty-five pounds.

• Able to work frequent overtime and respond off hours for issues that arise.
