Digital Supply Chain, Tech Lead

Alcon is looking to hire a Tech Lead for our Supply Chain CX Solutions, responsible for envisioning and building technology solutions to innovate our supply chain and enable a seamless experience for eye care professionals and patients.

Our Supply Chain CX Solutions team plays an instrumental role in our push to improving customer experience with cutting-edge technology solutions. The team focuses on helping eye care professionals work effectively and improve patient outcomes by optimizing the supply chain for critical eye care products and equipment (e.g., data ingestion and data modeling techniques to harmonize supply and demand data and manage inventory).

As a Tech Lead, you will lead a team of developers and work closely with the product team while interacting with senior business stakeholders. We are a new and fast-growing team which will give you the opportunity to shape our ways of working and culture - think start-up, but inside a global leader in eye care.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the design and build of technology solutions, aligned with business objectives, to optimize supply chain processes and improve end-user experiences (from eye care professionals to patients)
• Constantly look for better ways of solving technical problems and designing the solution, not afraid to challenge status quo
• Manage relationships with technology vendors and service providers to ensure that the supply chain technology ecosystem is up-to-date, secure, and reliable.
• Ensure that technology systems are secure, reliable, and meet all relevant regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with the Solution Architect to create a modular, scalable solution that addresses/incorporates future architectural changes and design
• Participate in design and sprint reviews to shape the trajectory of technology products

Key Requirements/Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent years of directly related experience (or high school +18 yrs; Assoc.+14 yrs; M.S.+7 yrs; PhD+6 yrs)
• The ability to fluently read, write, understand, and communicate in English.

• Experience:
  • Leading team of developers in delivering outputs
  • Prior experience with building supply-chain focused solutions and familiar with latest technological innovations and technologies in supply-chain (e.g., warehouse management systems, transportation management systems, and electronic data interchange (EDI) systems)
  • Developing solutions for healthcare and knowledge of healthcare interoperability standards like HL7, FHIR, and DICOM
• Technical:
  • Comfortable working in SaaS and cloud native environments to design, deploy, and manage cloud-based solutions and deep understanding of cloud computing technologies/platforms (AWS)
  • Experience in data modeling techniques and designing and implementing data integration solutions to ensure the seamless flow of data across various supply chain systems and applications (e.g., ETL processes, API design and integration)
  • Experience with SAP IBP for Supply Chain and broader SAP systems for data and application architecture
  • Strong analytical and modelling skills and experience with data analytics tools (e.g., as Tableau, Power BI, and R) to analyze and visualize supply chain data.
  • Experience with database management systems (e.g., MySQL, Oracle, and SQL Server)
  • Familiar with entire Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), Agile Development, DevOps (e.g., CI/CD processes), and Scrum
  • Proficiency in multiple programming languages (e.g., Java, Python), application frameworks, and software development methodologies with excellent troubleshooting and debugging skills

For this role, we are looking for someone that is

• Experienced: 10 years of relevant experience, including 3+ years leading team of developers in delivering outputs
• Technical:
  • Comfortable working in SaaS and cloud native environments to design, deploy, and manage cloud-based solutions and deep understanding of cloud computing technologies/platforms (AWS)
  • Experience in data modeling techniques and designing and implementing data integration solutions to ensure the seamless flow of data across various supply chain systems and applications (e.g., ETL processes, API design and integration)
  • Experience with SAP IBP for Supply Chain and broader SAP systems for data and application architecture
  • Strong analytical and modelling skills and experience with data analytics tools (e.g., as Tableau, Power BI, and R) to analyze and visualize supply chain data.

• Healthcare interested: Experience (or interest) in developing solutions for healthcare and knowledge of healthcare interoperability standards like HL7, FHIR, and DICOM
