Job Description
The DIGITAL TOOLS MANAGER is responsible for the overall management, leadership, and strategic direction of a global engineering team responsible to create, enhance, and maintain engineering and product data used in company-wide automation systems and tools.
Digital Tools team focus in two key areas. First, provide customer facing tools used to configure, select, and design products and automation systems thru proposal generation. Second, to provide end-to-end automation to internal systems to support order generation, engineering hardware and software documentation, and manufacturing.
This Digital Tools department supports all Rockwell business units as an extension of development engineering with a team that manages the creation, format, and movement of product and systems data to support customer facing tools. These tools provide a range of capabilities that includes product selection and complex system/product configuration. This team supports the data required in these tools with both new product introductions and continuation engineering.
This Digital Tools department also includes an extensive global team to provide engineering and CAD automation for many products that rely heavily on these systems to execute on customer orders. These products include Low Voltage Drives, Motor Control Centers, Medium Voltage Drives & Starters, Industrial Control Products, and Systems & Solutions Business. We provide global support for these business units serving our customers with both Configure-to-Order as well as Engineer-to-Order projects that scale from small to very large orders.
This is a critical leadership role in digital tools and will include support for strategic direction and roadmap for our tools, collaborating closely with key stakeholders across the company. Two important goals are moving to simplification in everything we do and utilizing best practices to drive to common tools and processes.

Objectives for this position include the following:
- Recommend an implement Organization strategy to drive operational excellence
- Define well defined organizational structure
- Develop staff with analysis of members strengths and development opportunities
- Clear Roles and Responsibilities for each team that drive value
- Define Processes for key roles to drive consistency
- Develop clear and consistent goals for each team
- Provide at least one personalized development Goal for each team member
- Execute on in-process key digital tools programs (Advisor, CEWS, 3DCAD, Hydra, Cubic).
- Complete Power Control Advisor Programs on Schedule
- Complete Key CEWS 2.0 functionality on Schedule
- Ramp CEWS internal usage
- Increase Cadenas Support RA products
- Meet Wiring Automation Schedule
- Accelerate Product and Control System Advisor Programs
- Develop the Configuration Data Lead Team
- Create a strategy and vision for this team.
- Create Metrics and Reports to show the effectiveness.
- Establish SMART Goals
- Setup up cadence of meetings with DT leadership to allow the teams to report on progress.
- Develop the CAD Automation Data Support Team

Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Information Technology or equivalent work experience
- Legal authorization to work in the US or Canada is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Typically requires a minimum of 8 years of relevant work experience.
- Demonstrated ability to provide strategic direction and roadmap to success.
- Ability to lead large group with managers as direct reports.
- Experience with working with remote resources.
- Demonstrated Organizational and leadership capabilities
- Strong technical background with expertise in problem solving techniques.
- Strong technical communication, documentation and presentation skills.
- Demonstrated ability to develop technical and leadership competencies in others
- Demonstrated ability to identify and implement process improvement opportunities
- Experience in managing multiple and competing goals and priorities
- Ability to meet challenging business expectations from multiple businesses
- Strong Collaboration skills
- Experience in Configure to Order (CTO) and Engineered to Order (ETO) businesses
- Experience & competency with MV and LV motor control products and power distribution and associated application to customer projects.
- Technical background in intelligent drawing automation with multiple CAD environments.
- Proficiency in SAP Systems.
- Experience & competency working with IT Projects in an Agile environment
- Experience with working with Global Teams.
- Experience and competency in electrical system design and construction
- Exposure to operational processes including scheduling, materials procurement, electrical panel assembly, wiring, and test.
- Demonstrated ability High Commitment to engineering and product quality in a high-volume production engineering environment.
- High Commitment to productivity through continuous improvement with demonstrated ability to lead change
