Job Description
I. Position Summary
Responsible for assisting the VP, Controller in establishing and monitoring compliance with Weather Group financial reporting and consolidation processes and controls for all assigned Allen Media subsidiaries to ensure results are accurate, timely, meet the needs of internal and external users, and are in accordance with GAAP. Leads the monthly close process and manages the general ledger and related systems. Will be responsible for updating and maintaining critical Accounting Policy and Procedures documentation. Identifies and implements financial/accounting process improvement initiatives, leads external audits, and develops technical memoranda supporting Company positions. Provides strong positive leadership, direction and growth opportunities to a diverse team of professionals including 3 direct reports in General Accounting and Revenue Accounting.

II. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Assists controller with establishing and monitoring compliance with financial reporting and consolidation processes and controls.
- Leads the monthly close process and manages the general ledger systems, reporting, and related controls using Blackline Task management tool
- Serves as Accounting team lead and subject matter expert on the configuration, use, and controls of the NetSuite general ledger, supporting applications, ancillary reporting tools. Works closely with IT and other Allen Media Group accounting teams to ensure maximum effective use of all system capabilities and operating controls. Centrally manages chart of accounts and all other reporting hierarchies
- Lead responsibility for assembling the monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements packages
- Respond to ad-hoc requests from the senior leadership team as well as from other members of the finance and accounting department in a timely manner
- Complete annual audit, quarterly review functions and prepare audit papers in support of external audit requests. Coordinates the accumulation of the external auditor PBC listing.
- Prepare audit papers and support internal and external audit requests as needed. Coordinates the accumulation of the PBC listings
- Prepare and review account reconciliations and monitor overall compliance with account reconciliation policies and procedures using Blackline account reconciliation tool
- Select, develop, motivate, train and retain a staff of accounting professionals
III. Education, Experience, Certification Requirements
- Four year degree with a concentration in accounting, MAcc or MBA preferred
- Minimum 7-10 years of significant accounting experience and a minimum of 2 years supervisory experience.
- Significant accounting experience should include emphasis on financial reporting, month-end closing, compliance, and audit
- Related industry experience strongly preferred
- CPA (active license) or similar certification required
IV. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Strong technical, analytical skills, proficient in U.S. GAAP
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Should be detail-oriented with ability to analyze and present findings and solutions
- Capacity to assess process and internal control weaknesses and implement improvements as a team leader
- Ability to independently resolve conflicts and influence people at all levels
- Must be multi-task oriented and able to work with frequent interruptions.
- Significant NetSuite experience, and advanced Microsoft Office skills.
- Demonstrated ability to successfully manage a high performing team and experience performing monthly financial closes
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines consistently
