Job Summary

Responsible for leading a team that influences Marketing, Communications, Brand, CX, and DX decisions through strategy formulation, competitive market intelligence and assessment of marketing impact. Focused especially on market trends that will impact our future ability to compete as an enterprise and within our divisions key markets and defined customer segmentations. This role will also be responsible for managing Enterprise Marketing and Communication's (EMC's) annual and continual business planning process and ensuring alignment with our long-term strategic plan and direction. Success will be measured by the role's impact on strategy formulation alongside the EMC Leadership Team, setting clear strategic direction for EMC with targeted outcomes and success measures.

Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:

  • Leading a team of marketing insights and analytics professionals to deliver focused value aligned to our strategic direction.
  • Supporting the EMC's long-term strategic plan development by challenging conventional thinking and surfacing Marketing and Communications trends, supported by our data.
  • Owning annual business planning and quarterly Line of Business reviews of strategy progress, ensuring consistency of messaging from top to bottom through the enterprise.
  • Identifying marketing and communication trends and surfacing potential impacts to the enterprise in ways that engage stakeholders and result in decision-making.
  • Developing and executing OneAmerica Way for road-mapping including core templates and frameworks, maturity model assessment and strategic decision-making.
  • Supporting Leader of Portfolio Strategy and Management in creating transparency and consistency in multi-year planning efforts and alignment to enterprise strategy practices.
  • Driving ad hoc strategic opportunities with direction from EMC Leadership Team members and other EMC leaders requiring targeted support to drive action.
  • Create and update monthly dashboards to track changes in key metrics, and project plans to support execution.

Job Requirements

Required Education and/or Certifications

  • Bachelors in Business, Finance, Economics, Business Management, Marketing, Data Science or related discipline.

Recommended Education and/or Certifications

  • MBA or advanced degree recommended
  • Experience in an Agile and Waterfall and Matrix structures a plus

Required Work Experience

  • 5+ years leadership experience required.
  • 10+ years in a combination of Marketing, Data science, Strategy, and or operations functions
  • Experience in formal project management.
  • Or any combination of education and experience which would provide an equivalent background

Salary Band: 07B

This selected candidate will be expected to work hybrid in Indianapolis. The candidate will also be expected to physically return to the office in CA, WI, IN or ME as business needs dictate or for team-building and collaboration.
