Today, the Decision Marketplace is powering our ad platform to offer brands and publishers a future-proof solution for a cookieless world, but in the coming years, we expect that the scope of our work will expand.

The Director of Accounting will plan, direct and manage the accounting operations of the company. This role will manage treasury operations, end-of-month close, annual audited financial statement preparation, annual tax returns, accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, payroll, tax estimates and payments, lease schedules, and other accounting functions.  Initially supervising a staff of 2.5 full-time employees, the Director of Accounting will be further tasked with increasing the headcount in the department.
This is a unique opportunity for someone ambitious and committed: the company is in process of implementing a new ERP solution, raising a significant financing round,  pursuing strategic acquisitions, and plans to dramatically scale.  Decide is seeking an individual that is motivated and excited to take on major projects against ambitious timelines.
This role will report to the CFO.

What you’ll do:
- Manage current accounting staff and will hire, train, and oversee additional staff, as needed
- Maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures; implement a system of controls over accounting transactions to minimize risk
- Oversee the production of monthly financial reports; ensuring that the reported results comply with GAAP and international financial reporting standards
- Recommend benchmarks that will be used to measure the company’s performance
- Aid in the production of the annual budget and forecasts; report significant budget differences to management
- Provide financial analysis, with emphasis on capital investments, pricing decisions, and contract negotiations
- Work with external auditors to provide data and prepare for the annual audit
- Work with external accountants to provide data for the annual tax returns
- Have knowledge of and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal government requirements
- Perform other related duties as necessary or assigned

Your skills and experience should include:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business Administration, plus a minimum of
7 years of related experience required
- Thorough understanding of accounting practices and procedures and the ability to train others in related practices and procedures
- Proven ability as an effective leader, with strong collaboration skills
- Experience providing staff supervision and coaching
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, NetSuite, GSuite, and similar software
- Proficient in accounting software and ERP systems
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication
- Demonstrated organizational and time management skills
- Intellectually curious and willing to take on new skills
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Stature and confidence to gain credibility and respect of senior leadership and staff
- Certified Public Accountant or Certified Management Accountant designation preferred but not required
Additional role requirements:
- Two to three days per week working from the Decide office
- Preference is given to candidates in ATX/STL
- Ability to travel as needed
