ABOUT THE JOB

The Director, Accounting Operations will be responsible for leading critical areas of accounting operations including accounts payable, procure to pay processes, general ledger accounting, payroll processing, strategic initiatives, accounting systems/tools, and other ad hoc projects. The Director will report to the VP, Global Controller. The Director will work closely with other functions including International Accounting, FP&A, HR, etc.

HOW WE’LL BE WINNING TOGETHER DAY TO DAY

  • Lead and develop a team of accounting professionals in a mostly remote work environment
  • Provide hands-on management and oversight of various accounting processes including procure to pay, general ledger accounting, AP invoice processing and managing cash flows and DPO.
  • Perform month-end G/L close activities, including review of month-end journal entries/accruals (bonus, payroll, professional fees, credit cards, taxes, etc.) and reconciliations/rollforwards (cash, goodwill, deferred taxes, intercompany, AP, loan fees, promissory notes, etc.).
  • Responsible for overseeing payroll processing including the recording of payroll related journal entries.
  • Preparation of review of weekly cash forecast including review and approval workflows of outgoing cash disbursements.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain effective policies and procedures that reflect strong internal controls. Responsible for completeness and accuracy of all monthly expenses in alignment with budget.
  • Possible additional functions and responsibilities in the future dependent on skills, capabilities and organizational strategy
  • Collaborate with senior executives and across functions such as Treasury, Tax, FP&A, HR and others to ensure consistency, standard processes and definitions and accuracy of financial reporting and financial forecasts
  • Lead the design and implementation of process improvements, including global standardized processes and automation of current processes.
  • Develop and report key operational metrics indicating the health of the accounting operations.
  • Develop reporting KPIs, including operational and financial metrics.
  • Responsible for being the administrator of the ERP system including analyzing user list as well as the usage of modules within the tool.
  • Develop desktop procedures across the organization to enable training across the organization.
  • Review financial statement information to ensure compliance with US GAAP.
  • Review audit schedules for on-going compliance audits and year-end financial audits.
  • Lead, mentor, and ensure engagement of the team, while partnering with the team to establish OKRs.
  • Responsible for completing ad hoc projects as they occur.

WE SHOULD TALK IF THIS SOUNDS LIKE YOU

  • 10+ years of relevant accounting experience preferably in a SaaS or technology environment for a private equity owned company
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting required; CPA required; Master’s degree in accounting preferred
  • M&A integration experience preferred
  • Experience leading a team, driving efficiencies/automation and collaborating across functions
  • Have excellent communication skills with the ability to lead change management
  • Knowledge of NetSuite is required; knowledge Salesforce and other financial systems is a plus
  • Enjoy working in an environment that is mostly remote
  • Ability to participate in in-person meetings on a periodic basis

  • Eastern/Central Time Zone location preferred
  • Atlanta/Chicago/Nashville/Houston locations preferred
