JOB TITLE: Director & Actuary, Life Modeling
JOB DUTIES: Ensure actuarial models (such as Traditional Life AXIS models) are updated to account for changes in regulatory and/or business environment. Function as lead developer to assist in managing model operations, maintain production models, and implement scheduled model improvements, working closely with other model developers on technical model changes and various Life Actuarial teams to ensure changes are fully tested prior to use in production. Ensure production models are thoroughly documented, reproducible, and comply with model governance standards. Help ensure controlled, validated, and well-documented results are produced by models for every production cycle. Review Production Projection runs produced out of AXIS to ensure life business projections (such as Cash Flow Testing & Business Planning) are run using the correct model and assumption setup. Create ad-hoc development models to support specific business needs (e.g., reinsurance transactions).
SALARY: $151,000 per year
WORK SCHEDULE: Full-time, 40 hours/week, Mon - Fri 9:00 am to 5:00 pm

JOB REQUIREMENTS: Position requires a Bachelor's degree, or foreign equivalent, in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field, and two (2) years of experience in the job offered, as Actuarial Associate, Actuarial Consultant, or related. Full term of experience must include each of the following: Modeling experience in actuarial software such as AXIS; Knowledge of technical accounting related to actuarial calculations for Statutory, Tax, and US GAAP regimes; Working with database management systems and languages, including SQL and GreenPlum; and, Statistical applications, and visualization applications, such as Python, R, and SpotFire. Employer will accept any suitable combination of education, training, or experience. Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA) or Associate of the Society of Actuaries (ASA) designation required.
