About the Role

LendingClub Bank's Financial Crimes Compliance (FCC) team, as part of the Compliance Department, is responsible for maintaining an effective Bank Secrecy Act/Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and sanctions compliance program, including developing and supporting a strong system of controls to prevent the Bank from being used to facilitate money laundering, terrorist financing, and other illegal activities. The FCC team coordinates day-to-day implementation of these efforts, including developing appropriate policies and procedures designed to assist the business units in conducting appropriate due diligence to detect, prevent, and report potentially suspicious activity.

We are looking to hire a Director, AML Program Management to lead the Bank's AML Program. In this key role, you will be responsible for supporting the development, enhancement, ongoing governance and day-to-day oversight of all aspects of the AML Program. This position will report to the Bank's Head of FCC (BSA Officer) and will assist with implementation of key internal controls, responding to examination and audit needs, execution of strategic initiatives, and identifying and addressing opportunities for process enhancements.

This position is based out of our offices in Lehi, UT; San Francisco, CA; New York, NY; or remote.

What You'll Do

  • Develop and oversee the AML Compliance Program activities
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for the Bank's business partners in ad-hoc or strategic initiatives
  • Lead in regular governance exercises, including annual money laundering and sanctions risk assessments (in partnership with the Sr Director, KYC and Sanctions)
  • Assist with the preparation of MIS, management, and board committee reporting under the direction of the BSA Officer
  • Collaborate with FCC team members in initiatives to strengthen, develop, and support policies and procedures related to AML compliance activities
  • Serve as key point of contact for monitoring and ensuring timely updates and escalation of open compliance issues
  • Monitor and assist with the development of risk appetite metrics and other key risk and performance indicators
  • Provide support for other AML Program or broader FCC Program related initiatives and activities as needed, including internal and external audits, compliance testing or regulatory exams and strategic projects


About You

About You
  • You have 10+ years of BSA/AML and sanctions compliance experience within a regulated financial institution
  • You have extensive knowledge of BSA/AML laws and regulations, including but not limited to the Bank Secrecy Act, the USA PATRIOT Act, and Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC)/sanctions requirements
  • You have knowledge and familiarity with various regulatory authorities (e.g., Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC), Federal Reserve, OFAC, and Financial Crimes Enforcement Network)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, as well as presentation skills with strong interpersonal skills to successfully influence strategic initiatives at all organizational levels
  • You love thought leadership and passion for driving change, with an ability to navigate multiple high and sometimes competing priorities
  • You have familiarity with transaction monitoring and suspicious activity case management systems
  • You have a Bachelor's degree or higher in related field
  • You have a CAMS or other AML certification preferred

San Francisco, Lehi, Boston, Westborough or remote.

Travel Requirements

As needed travel to San Francisco/Boston/Lehi.
