About the Role

We are looking for a Director of Maintenance and Asset Management to join us on our journey to facilitate a digital revolution in the B2B supply chain. The Director, Asset Management and Maintenance manages thecompany's efforts to optimize asset management in both the energy and non-energy business units, oversee fleet maintenance, source and foster relationships with vendors, promote and grow shop other income, and lead a team to ensure seamless operations and cost-effective solutions. As a Director, Asset Management and Maintenance, you will play a critical role in ensuring the efficient acquisition, tracking, growth, and maintenance of a vast fleet of assets, ranging from 3,000 to 50,000 units across various markets in the US.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead efforts to identify and acquire leased properties for asset storage and maintenance in diverse markets across the US.
  • Oversee the procurement of additional leased assets to meet operational needs.
  • Ensure efficient onboarding of new trailers, coordinating with dispatch to arrange the movement of units to the designated markets.
  • Develop and grow shop other income and product offerings.
  • Source and utilize tracking software to oversee and manage all leased assets effectively.
  • Place orders and coordinate the installation of new tracking devices as required.
  • Manage the transition of third party to W-2 technicians.
  • Establish and cultivate relationships with maintenance vendors across all markets.
  • Negotiate contracts and agreements to obtain favorable terms and conditions for the company.
  • Track and manage maintenance activities for all leased assets, maintaining accurate records and invoices.
  • Generate repair cost data and create reports to present maintenance costs to customers and leadership.
  • Implement strategies to maximize revenue and minimize maintenance costs while ensuring asset integrity.
  • Develop, review, and implement Standard Operating Procedures to streamline asset management processes and maintain consistency across the team.
  • Establish and promote fuel rebate programs with various vendors.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards.
  • Build and lead an Asset Management team, including a field team for field oversight.
  • Provide guidance, training, and support to team members, ensuring their professional growth and development.


Qualifications/Skills:

  • Exceptional working knowledge of FMCSA and DOT regulations.
  • Experience in logistics asset management, particularly in acquiring and maintaining leased assets.
  • Proficiency in using asset tracking software, with a strong command of Samsara or similar platforms.
  • Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities to coordinate asset movement and maintenance effectively.
  • Analytical skills to generate repair cost data and create insightful reports.
  • Ability to develop and implement cost-cutting strategies while maintaining asset quality.
  • Familiarity with Class 8 truck / trailer repair and preventative maintenance schedules and the ability to ensure timely compliance.
  • Effective leadership and team-building capabilities to lead and motivate the Asset Management team.
  • Effective communication skills to establish and maintain relationships with vendors, customers, and internal stakeholders.
  • Bilingual (Spanish) a plus.
  • Good interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word).
  • Demonstrate a strong sense of urgency in all projects and an ability to prioritize and re-prioritize as necessary.
  • Ability to multi-task projects and required tasks in an organized fashion.
  • Ability to work in a team environment as well as self-motivated in individual projects.
  • Ability to travel 75% to the field.
  • Good working knowledge of OSHA regulations


Educational/Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree (B.A., B.S., etc)
  • 5+ years of Class 8 truck / trailer direct maintenance experience
  • 5+ years of asset management experience
  • 10+ years of multi-shop management experience


Compensation:$150-185k
