Summary / Role Purpose:

The Director of Business Intelligence and AI Analytics is a newly created position at Ansys and will be responsible to lead the strategic development and implementation of advanced data analytics solutions that combines the power of Business Intelligence (BI) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) to deliver data-driven insights. The role will be instrumental in delivering cutting-edge interactive dashboards using Microsoft Power BI, while also leveraging AI technologies to unlock deeper insights and enhance decision-making processes across the organization. This role will be pivotal in driving the widespread adoption of data-driven decision making and revolutionize the way we harness and interpret information. This role will take Ansys' analytics capabilities to new heights by embracing AI technologies like Microsoft Copilot, elevating our decision analytics, and fostering data-powered predictions to create a culture that thrives on data, leading to operational efficiency and enhanced business outcomes.

This position is remote, although it requires traveling to corporate HQ based on business needs.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

• Lead the strategic development and implementation of advanced data analytics solutions, combining Business Intelligence (BI) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies to drive transformative insights and enhance decision-making.
• Build and lead a high-performing team of Business Intelligence and AI experts, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning.
• Evaluate and integrate AI technologies such as Microsoft Copilot and other AI-based analytics systems, driving the evolution of decision analytics and predictive modeling.
• Champion self-service, data-driven strategies for business partners and foster a data-first culture, empowering the organization to utilize BI and AI solutions as strategic assets.
• Collaborate closely with stakeholders across all levels of the organization to understand their data needs and translate requirements into sophisticated analytics solutions ensuring the delivery of relevant and insightful analytics.
• Work closely with IT teams to ensure data integrity, security, and proper integration of data sources into the BI ecosystem.
• Ensure compliance with data privacy, security, and governance protocols, maintaining the highest standards of data integrity and ethical data practices.
• Stay at the forefront of industry trends and advancements in BI, AI, and data analytics, identifying opportunities to leverage emerging technologies for improved decision-making capabilities.

Minimum Education/Certification Requirements and Experience

• B.A./B.S. degree in business analytics or equivalent practical experience, with a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in Business Intelligence and AI analytics.
• Proven track record of successfully leading and implementing complex Business Intelligence projects, driving transformative insights, and delivering tangible business outcomes.
• Extensive experience with Microsoft Power BI and other leading Business Intelligence tools, showcasing the ability to develop interactive dashboards and visualizations that drive data consumption across the organization.
• Prior experience in managing and developing high-performing BI and AI analytics teams, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
• Dynamic relationship building and partnership skills; a strong collaborator with experience leading initiatives across multiple groups and stakeholders.
• Experience in integrating complex, cross-corporate processes, and information strategies, and/or designing strategic metrics and scorecards.
• A strategic thinker who can establish and translate business objectives into actionable solutions.
• An energetic and self-motivated leader who can embrace and lead change.

Preferred Qualifications and Skills

• MBA or Masters in related field preferred.
• Twelve or more years of overall work experience.
• Ten or more years of progressive leadership experience in leading cross-functional teams and enterprise-wide programs.
• Strong understanding of data modeling, data warehousing, and data integration principles, with the ability to architect scalable and efficient data analytics solutions.
• Demonstrated expertise in leveraging AI technologies and machine learning algorithms to enhance data analytics, including experience with Microsoft Copilot or similar Natural Language Processing (NLP) systems.
• Prior experience in integrating and influencing others across a matrixed organization and unlocking new opportunities to drive change and adoption.
• Possess a broad set of working skills and knowledge across hardware, software systems and solutions development across more than one technical domain
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, capable of articulating complex technical ideas and analytical findings in a concise and compelling manner.
• Strong team player with excellent leadership qualities, capable of effectively mentoring and motivating team members to achieve exceptional results.
