We are looking for an experienced Director of Brand Marketing to lead the reimagining of Pie's brand strategy and partner with teams to ensure that it comes to life in a way that is distinct and consistent across the entire customer journey. Your goal is to grow Pie to be a household name for every small business and agency partner in America. Our dream candidate is a strategic thinker with proven success launching and scaling memorable brands and brand activations. This person can think BIG, but can get scrappy and win when the rubber meets the road. Pie's next Director, Brand Marketing knows that a brand is a living, breathing creature that grows and evolves over time, but always remains true to its core values, mission, and customers. This person has never, and will never, be seen as the "brand police" but rather can articulate the importance of brand cohesion in an exciting and motivating way, while always grounding a strong brand POV in research, data, and performance.
How You'll Do It
  • Be the architect, owner, steward, and evangelist of Pie's brand strategy. You'll ensure all of Pie's employees and partners understand Pie's brand and how it shapes our business
  • Partner closely with product and product design on the development of our customer personas/archetypes
  • Lead the definition and evolution of our brand strategy - mission, vision, values, positioning, value propositions, RTBs, etc.
  • Lead development of marketing campaign creative strategy with customer insights and data at the core, partnering with other marketing leads to ensure that their business objectives come through in the campaign brief
  • Lead brand marketing campaigns - setting the strategy, partnering with creative and media on campaign concept, execution, optimization and measurement
  • Identify and manage agency partners and work with in-house creative team to develop brand campaigns
  • Partner closely with the media team on our media strategy and execution, providing a point of view on brand measurement, KPIs, and down funnel impact
  • Build and own our brand health tracker in the US and other key markets

The Right Stuff
  • A High School Diploma or GED is required. Bachelor's Degree or college coursework is preferred
  • 10+ years of experience in marketing is preferred
  • 5+ years of specific experience in leadership and people management is preferred
  • You know how and love to build a unique brand strategy that stands out and rises above the noise
  • Experience managing qualitative and quantitative research for brand strategy
  • Deep familiarity of customer-facing marketing channels and how they work together, and how they drive impact down the funnel
  • Experience driving action in an organization based on customer insights and data
  • Ability to set a plan, and manage against it. You know how to get everyone on the same page with direction and strategy, then lead a cross-functional team through checkpoints to get it done.
  • Balance of creativity and analysis - the ability to turn data & insights into action and creative problem-solving
  • Comfort in ambiguity. You're confident in your ability to pick up projects quickly, learn on the job, independently solve problems, and to figure things out even when there aren't explicit instructions. We look for team players who are quick to pitch in when something needs to get done-even if it's not listed in your job description.
  • Strong communication (written and verbal) and organizational skills while maintaining a strong attention to detail
  • Small business audience experience is a plus
  • Some travel could be required in this position, up to 10% travel

Compensation range for position: $165,000 - $230,000

Location Information
Unless otherwise specified, this role has the option to be hybrid or remote. Hybrid work locations provide team members with the flexibility of working partially from our Denver or DC office and from home. Remote team members must live and work in the United States* (*territories excluded), and have access to reliable, high-speed internet.
