What you will be doing

The Business Analytics Director will lead the strategic direction and evolution of the Marketplace Solutions (MPS) data and analytics program. The Business Analytics Director will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies, critical metrics, and analysis across Marketplace Solutions services' growth, optimization, retention, forecasting, and general program health. Acting as an advisor to MPS leadership, his position will bring thought leadership and a strategic mindset toward discovering opportunities and identifying recommendations to improve performance in an evolving business.
  • Create vision and strategic plan to expand and enhance the data analytics program, define goals for success, and prioritize and assign appropriate resources to effectively execute. Direct the short- and long-range plans to assure the best use of the department's resources in defining initiatives, goals, and data capture.
  • Grow the current analytics program across Marketplace Solutions, including but not limited to Good Neighbor Pharmacy, Elevate Provider Network, expansion services, and respective offerings. Identify key intersections for increased transparency, synergy, and connectivity across business units.
  • Consult with senior program leadership to understand key priorities and initiatives across the solutions' team. Interpret feedback, analyze data, and identify the best solutions that will align with the business objectives. Provide guidance on opportunities gleaned from data to optimize, grow, retain, and enhance Marketplace Solutions.
  • Maintain a deep understanding of functional business objectives, processes, governance, and challenges across key stakeholder groups in order to inform, lead, maintain strong relationships, and demonstrate a shared vision.
  • Be an enthusiastic leader. Manage a team with focus, direction, and accountability. Effectively communicate vision, establish clear goals, and champion our customer-centric culture. Coach a high-performing team and identify areas for leveraging talent, growth, and career development. Swiftly and appropriately address performance issues as necessary.
  • Ensure quality, accuracy, and timeliness of data being reported across the MPS organizationDevelop an understanding of the critical systems and support leadership and team members on how to best leverage data that resides in those systems.
  • Drive initiatives to deliver ongoing improvements. Assess technological opportunities, gaps, and emerging trends and recommend fiscally-responsible solutions to keep analytics program progressive.
  • Create compelling storylines and visuals to identify trends, sales leads, membership growth and retention, program utilization, and other areas for increased efficiency and transparency.
  • Document business workflows and processes. Support internal teams as a Business Analyst/process SME and improve team's use of technology.
  • Effectively manage projects and meetings as a technical liaison between MPS team, leadership, and internal/external IT partners.
  • Effectively communicates results and implications to executives, internal departments, and field sales associates.
  • Build and strengthen relationships across Business Units in the One AB organization. Partner with other data stewards to break down data silos to enhance connectivity, increase transparency, share best practices, and eliminate data blind spots.
  • Support Marketplace Solutions during the annual tradeshow, as needed
  • Performs related duties as assigned.

What your background should look like

Requires broad training in fields such as business administration, accountancy, sales, marketing, computer sciences or similar vocations generally obtained through completion of a four-year bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience; normally requires a minimum of six (6) years related and progressively responsible experience.

This action- and results-oriented leader must be highly creative and adaptable. He/She must have prior experience in building, managing, and coaching effective teams, ensuring accountability, developing talent, championing culture, managing through ambiguity, and driving results through self and team.

Candidate must have the below skills and abilities and be able to coach team members to the same;
  • Prior management experience preferred
  • Curiosity to seek enhanced and improved ways of conducting business and the ability to encourage this trait within team members.
  • Knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry
  • Deep understanding of AmerisourceBergen retail programs
  • Thorough knowledge of AmerisourceBergen policies and procedures
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. Experienced presenter, with ability to summarize output clearly for all levels of data savviness.
  • Ability to interpret complex material into easily understood analysis
  • Superb attention to detail; demonstrated quality control management
  • Strong interpersonal skills; ability to develop and maintain cooperative working and business relationships.
  • Demonstrated prioritization, time management, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Must be passionate about internal and external customer experience and process efficiency.
  • Strong organization and project management skills; comfortable operating in a deadline-driven environment and ability to address issues preventing the success of milestones.
  • Strong navigation of multiple systems and the consolidation of data from various sources
  • Must have expert knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and Power BI.
  • Must have experience Azure Data Warehouse, Salesforce.com, Google Analytics, and familiarity with SAP and SQL.
  • Must be willing to travel up to 10% of the time.
