Montai is seeking a highly motivated Director of Business Development. This person will be part of the strategic team building a new company. We are utilizing AI and ML to create new small molecules to solve high unmet need situations in chronic autoimmune diseases. The platform is enabling us to create optionality and finding the right pharma partner on this journey will be key.

Responsibilities: 

Strategic Leadership

• Be part of the company leadership team
• Develop the BD strategy
• Give input into the company’s strategy and portfolio discussion

Business Development 

• Be part of the strategic BD discussions which create the best optionality for Montai
• Administer day-to-day BD activities, including facilitating cross-functional Partnership team meetings 
• Lead team meeting discussions to drive decision-making, prepare agenda and minutes 
• Maintain BD tracker 
• Coordinate operations internal planning and meetings for potential partnerships, including: 
• Coordinate materials for meeting and prep meetings 
• Create company/individual profiles in advance of meetings 
• Ensure post meeting notes and follow up 
• Responsibility for data room coordination & management 
• Coordinate with other departments preparing and managing data room 
• Manage data room access and external tracking 
• Support deal term development – keeping up on partnership trends, identify and source deal benchmarks, collaborate with Partnership team on term drafting 
• Coordinate BD activities and learnings with Flagship Business Development team 

Alliance Management (AM) 

• Plan and manage the operational aspects of the alliance 
• Serve as main point-of-contact into Montai for the partner; likely working with their AM 
• Proactively tracks, monitor and communicates contract achievements, obligations and any financial payments to project team leaders and management 
• Prepares, in coordination with partner AM, for joint steering meetings -agenda, preparation of materials, minutes, ensure follow up on Montai action items 

Competitive Intelligence 

• Maintain competitive intelligence tracker, provide routine updates to CI dashboard; monitor developments in the field and industry 
• Assist CSO and CMO in profiling therapeutic areas for potential new development opportunities 

Qualifications:

• 4+ years BD experience
• MBA preferred
• Scientific curiosity/understanding is critical
• Strategic thinking
• Being comfortable to work in a highly paced changing environment
