About the position:
Showpad is looking for a Director, Business Development to lead our global Business Development Representative (BDR) function. Reporting to our VP of Global Commercial Sales, this role will be able to better support the engine of our outbound lead generation business, with a team of 25+ BDRs and 5 BDR Managers across EMEA and the NA regions.
The role will centralise knowledge and processes to enable BDR team performance growth through scalable activities with the aim of enhancing the quality of BDR teams output. The role will enable the BDR Managers to focus on coaching and supporting their team while the Director, Business Development can work cross functionally, developing best practices and driving lead generation quality improvement through scalable solutions.
Key Responsibilities
  • Enhance quality in BDR productivity
  • Work with Senior Marketing leaders to understand, influence and align the lead generation strategy with the BDR function and processes
  • Work with Sales, Sales Operations, Marketing and BDR leaders to improve the opportunity qualification process
  • Analyse performance and identify gaps in BDR and Account Executive pipeline generation productivity and prioritise area of focus
  • Standardise programs that are working across all regions/segments
  • Drive performance discipline, including activity, pipeline, BDR management and sales best practice
  • Create a coaching culture to improve sales capability and develop a growth mindset across the teams
  • Set up a consistent and career-developing training cadence to improve performance and quota attainment of the team
  • Coach and mentor current and future BDR leaders
  • Drive consistent communication to the sales leadership team around BDR and AE pipe gen metrics, progress, and project updates
  • Work cross-functionally with teams internally that impact the BDR team day to day and wider strategy. This will include (but not limited to) new business sales, growth marketing, revops, revenue acceleration (sales enablement) and product marketing.
  • Promote team collaboration, inclusion and high-performance culture.

Requirements
  • Proven track record of consistently achieving and exceeding pipeline generation objectives
  • Strong understanding of Salesforce including experience building and reading reports
  • Experience of leading teams selling to SMB, Mid-Market and Enterprise clientele
  • Experience selling SaaS products and knowledge of the sales process and cycle as it relates to software sales
  • Proven success record of cross-functional work, with examples of projects driven in partnership with multiple stakeholders
  • Proven ability to lead by example, coach and influence others to drive both high effectiveness and high levels of employee engagement
  • Excellent forecasting, reporting and communication skills
