What You'll Do
The Corporate Business Development (BD) team is responsible for identifying and driving key business opportunities at Flatiron through long term growth initiatives, strategic partnerships and M&A (note, this is not a commercial/sales role). Some examples of our work include bringing new products to market with a partner (e.g., developing a joint clinico-genomic data product with Foundation Medicine), launching new companies (e.g., OneOncology), and incubating new offerings to accelerate our impact on cancer care. We are looking for people who will not only develop strategies to accelerate Flatiron's growth, but will also drive their execution to deliver results.
In this role, you'll support multiple initiatives within flatiron, focused on our Clinical Research Business Unit (CRBU). You'll be responsible for owning complex transactions and advising the CR leadership team. We're looking for individuals that are both experienced deal-makers as well as strong leaders of cross-functional work. Working in a fast-paced and rapidly growing business, you will be consistently challenged and are expected to learn quickly and think "yes before no", as you'll play an integral role in the success and growth of Flatiron.
Who You Are
You're a kind, passionate and collaborative problem-solver who values feedback and cross-functional work. In addition, you're a highly analytic, strategic thinker with the ability to translate between strategic business decisions and their product and operational implications. You are deeply familiar with the clinical research technology and services market and have a proven record of assessing, prioritizing and executing against opportunities in the space. You have 5+ years experience in externally-facing roles in healthcare, preferable in a partnering or corporate development-related role at a high growth company or in consulting. Job Compensation Range
Salary Range: $176,000.00 - $264,000.00
Preferred Primary Location: NYC Headquarters
The annual pay range reflected above for this position is based on the preferred primary location of the role which is listed in the job description. Salary ranges for other locations vary from the range reflected above. Base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. An annual bonus and equity may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered.

- Identify, structure and prioritize opportunities for Flatiron's businesses, brainstorm and evaluate tradeoffs of potential solutions, conduct analyses, and inform strategic decisions.
- Collaborate with stakeholders across the company (e.g., Product, Legal, Finance, Sales, Research Clinicians, etc.) to properly identify, prioritize, and execute on partnership and M&A opportunities.
- Own all aspects of deal execution, including identification and prioritization of partners/targets, strategic and financial assessment, transaction structuring and negotiation, operations planning, follow through to results, and relationship management.
- Cultivate relationship with companies across the space, keeping a finger on the pulse of competitor offerings and broader market dynamics
- We're looking for an individual who is excited to work cross-functionally, with external partners and is willing to roll up their sleeves to drive ambiguous projects forward.

- Have extensive experience structuring, negotiating, and executing strategic partnerships, M&A, and/or new initiatives.
- Are able to learn quickly and structure work around ambiguous problems.
- Are able to cultivate and strengthen relationships internally and externally across a matrix of roles and areas of expertise
- Can navigate organizational cultures and teams at both Flatiron and partners
- Have a nose for value and can effectively focus and prioritize in a challenging, rapidly changing, and time sensitive environment
- Able to effectively communicate information succinctly to executive stakeholders
- Demonstrate exceptional written and communication skills and experience developing external relationships.
