Director, Business Development & Capture Management
Job Description
Tenet3 is seeking a talented and experienced Business Development & Capture Manager to join our growing organization. In the position you will develop and lead bid opportunities and create and foster relationships with potential customers and teaming partners. You will lead our business development team.
Essential Job Duties & ResponsibilitiesÂ
- Facilitate discussions to bid or not to bid
- Manage the business development team
- Identify client priorities and win themes
- Create and execute a proposal project plan
- Conduct market and competitor research
- Participate in kick-off and debrief meetings
- Act as point of contact for prospects
- Gather and send follow-up and clarifying questions to the buyer
- Manage the proposal team (anyone contributing to RFPs)
- Ensure proposals and presentations are brand compliant
- Report proposal progress to executive management
- Submit final proposal for consideration
- Maintain the RFP response database
- Prioritize RFPs based on likelihood of winning and value
- Track RFP data and win rate
- Travel expected to be up to 35%
Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical field
- 20 years’ experience in business development/capture role
- Proven track record of executing from initial bid discovery to proposal submission
- Excellent writing, public speaking, and verbal communication skills.
- Detail oriented and outstanding organizational skills
- Demonstrated analytical, reasoning, planning and problem solving abilities
- Ability to communicate technical information to experts and laymen alike
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects efficiently
- Team-player attitude, willing to accept from and offer direction to others.
- Responsive to customer needs and emerging challenges
- Future focused and able to articulate strategic needs
- Ability to obtain a TOP SECRET clearance. (Must be a US Citizen)
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in Engineering, Engineering Management, Marketing, or related field
- APMP or Shipley certifications
- Experience supporting a diverse set of customers including the Department of Defense
- Active TOP SECRET clearance
