GROUP/DIVISION SUMMARY

The Chemical Analysis Division (CAD) business specializes in material and chemical identification through Elemental Analysis. Additionally, CAD is involved in Environment & Process Monitoring and supplies innovative solutions for Spectroscopy. It comprises the following Business Units: Production Process and Analytics; Measurement Control and Sample Identification; Environmental & Process Monitoring.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Commercial Director will be responsible for business development of the CAD business in India, to attain the revenue / profitability targets and market share goals. He / She will drive business growth particularly on key opportunities. He / She will be working closely with Operations team to drive localization of products and improve competitiveness.

The role holder will actively pursue the generation of the business by working with the Business Unit (BU) commercial leaders and teams in the region, engaging of the local sales channels, and drive channel optimization. This role is encouraged to mentor, guide and advise the CAD BU Commercial Leaders and team in the region.

Key Responsibilities:

The role carries the responsibility of managing India business P&L with one of the largest business units. Specifically the individual will be responsible for the following:

  • Develop and implement the short and long-term strategic and operating plans including go-to-market strategy and the appropriate mix between direct business and channel/distributor partners
  • Develop and implement a key account strategy for the BU's, working with other divisional commercial leaders to drive incremental growth through value proposition and workflow selling solutions
  • Identify and evaluate market opportunities for growth, engaging within business divisions to drive opportunities for emerging technologies, new market segments & new product introduction (NPI) and deliver on incremental revenue targets for NPI
  • Responsible for management of manufacturing operations and drive localization of products to improve competitiveness of the divisions.
  • Localize global marketing campaigns to drive revenue. Leverage global and regional marketing teams to support local sales strategies and markets
  • Play an active and leading role in the acquisition of local companies/partners and lead integration of any globally acquired / new businesses
  • Plan and manage the business's budget appropriately including revenue, margin and operating expenditure
  • Monitor market intelligence including competition; macroeconomics and the regulatory environment
  • Lead a commercially-savvy team; hire, empower, and retain employees, to build a high performing sales organization. Develop local pipeline for leadership and key pillar positions
  • Actively participate as a member of the division and the Indian leadership team.

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's in engineering; MBA preferred.
  • 15+ years in industrial market and general management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Experience in a global matrix environment and managing distributors.
  • Strong analytical, interpersonal, communication, and decision-making skills.
