Director, Category Leadership Walmart
Job Description
The Category Leadership Director (Walmart) position is responsible for leading a team of hghly engaged associates toward delivering confectionery growth for Mars Wrigley and Walmart. The Director of Walmart will develop and coach a team of nine associates, elevating the team's ability to influence the customer in creating and executing growth plans that deliver mutual business results. This role will also act as a category thought leader internally and externally with Walmart, providing both the tactical and strategic direction needed to make quality decisions for the category. This role will also hold advisorship and validator responsibilities at Walmart. This individual will be a key stakeholder in global category vision initiatives, embedding Luminate into the business, and driving strategy for best in class solutions.

Job Description:
Director of Category Leadership- Walmart - Bentonville
Key Responsibilities
- Build a HPC team and culture, develop direct reports to lead Category initiatives and communicate strategic needs to the business both regionally and globally.
- Develop and maintain strong customer relationships with Walmart and Sam's to ensure a long-term partnership that promotes category growth and enables mutual growth
- As a member of the Walmart and Category Leadership Team, foster and help to create the culture we want to work for as well as helping to drive channel level decisions, strategic inputs, and talent cultivation.
- Translate annual U.S. and Global Category vision into channel level strategies, goals and plans that contribute to overall team objectives.
- Identify and communicate strategic data (Luminate) and digital investment needs and required timing to accelerate growth at a rate faster than total Mars Wrigley.
- Initiate and develop collaborative relationships across Walmart and internally to create best in class thought leadership and elevated instore and online test and learns and executions
Education & Professional Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree required
- MBA preferred
Knowledge / Experience
- Experience developing strategic channel and customer long term planning required
- Preferred experience with Walmart and managing advisorships
- Strong influencing, negotiation, business planning (JBP), customer penetration and communication skills are essential to this role.
- Strong track record of successful People Leadership required
- Strategic Agility
- Advanced Interpersonal Skills and ability to build meaningful relationships
- Strong Communication Skills
- Highly proficient in MS (PowerPoint & Excel) & Relevant Data Tools (Nielsen Scan & Panel Data, JDA, Numerator, Richmix)
- Highly proficient in Luminate preferred
- Willingness to travel (up to 15% of time)
