Role Summary
The Director of Managed Accounts Operations is accountable for evolving and leading the operational support strategy of T. Rowe Price's managed account business, inclusive of Manager Traded and Model Delivered SMA and Mutual Fund Model Portfolios. The incumbent will be viewed as the enterprise-wide subject matter expert on managed accounts operational support and serve as a key resource and critical business partner to business partners including Sales, Investments, Product, Legal/Compliance, and other shared services in order to continue the expansion of the firms managed accounts business. This role will also lead a team of individuals responsible for the onboarding of sponsor and client relationships, partnering with internal and external service providers to ensure all client operational obligations and ongoing support commitments are met.

- Solves unique problems that have a broad impact on the business or organization function
- Contributes to the development of disciplinary strategy within the Managed Accounts landscape at T. Rowe Price, source of authoritative advice on best courses of action in area of expertise
Responsibilities
- Works with leadership to set new protocols and policies to resolve issues and improve managed account operations efficiency. Leads team members in providing sponsor and client implementation and servicing support to the firm's Managed Account clients.
- Recruits, directs, motivates and develops a team, maximizing their individual contribution, their professional growth and their ability to build and sustain a high-performing, strategically focused workforce.
- Services the ongoing investment operational needs of clients, including proactively identifying data trends and analysis to support enriching operational capabilities. Addresses highly complex, nonstandard servicing requirements. Raises awareness and teaches others how and when to escalate issues.
- Monitors risk and engages in problem solving by critically questioning and analyzing practices that impact the client experience. Acts as a subject matter expert when dealing with critical client communications.
- Monitors requests for new or enhanced client services, potential risk, and trends in service and communicates through appropriate channels within the organization to champion and influence changes to maintain a competitive edge in the industry and to manage risk to the firm. Identifies and implements process changes to the team that will have impact across T. Rowe Price clients.
- Coaches and guides client contacts or their service providers who have little or no experience in handling certain types of account activities.
Typical Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or the equivalent combination of education and relevant experience AND
- 10+ years of total relevant work experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or the equivalent combination of education business management, finance, or other relevant discipline.
- Excellent knowledge of the asset management business and investment products.
- 10+ Years industry experience and more recently working within financial services, investment operations, client operations, and/or retail managed accounts.
- Knowledge of the US retail managed account marketplace, products and sponsor operational requirements and protocols
- Strong knowledge and experience with Portfolio Accounting software (i.e. Tegra/Fiserv, Vestmark, Archer) capabilities and protocols
- Experience in Managed Account Operations supporting Manager Traded and Model Delivered SMA and Mutual Fund Model Portfolios
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to form, recommend, and/or implement decisions.
- Impeccable attention to detail with ability to synethize and communicate at the appropriate level.
- Excellent interpersonal, business, and client management skills required.
- Ability to manage multiple, competing projects, priorities, and/or time sensitive issues.
- Ability to organize and lead through influence across the organization.
- Strong verbal and written communication.
