Director, Client Engagement
Job Description
POLITICO is looking for a Client Engagement Director to support the Managing Director in organizing and streamlining engagements with POLITICO's clients and influencers, which make up the POLITICO Client Engagement network. This position will take on the coordination and execution of Client Engagement strategy across departments, with a main focus on the Media Solutions team. The Managing Director and Director will work hand in hand to create a Client Engagement strategy that leads to Media Solutions' business and revenue growth.
The Director, Client Engagement is responsible for supporting the Managing Director with establishing strategic growth opportunities and identifying valuable relationships with C-Suite level clients across Fortune 100 companies and top associations. This position will take on the coordination and execution of strategic planning by determining who are the key prospects, building out presentation materials, gathering market intelligence, as well as coordinating across the department and organizing outreach in cooperation with Executive Support teams.
What You'll Do:
- Work with Managing Director to build out the Client Engagement organizational structure and framework
- Responsible for coordinating and executing all Sales Team check ins on a regular cadence
- Record and organize all outreach requests and execution for executives in Partnership with Business Development Team
- Research - finding new roles/executives/targets for outreach
- Help maintain the client database, using Airtables, Excel and Salesforce.
- Track and report all linked revenue and action on key accounts from Executive Activation and Client Engagement Activities on a regular basis
- Act as main point of contact for composing holistic prep materials for executives ahead of client meetings.
- Coordinate across team and departments to maintain accurate information on existing and new VIPs and clients
- Proactively work with BD team to identify best practices and communicate with sales leadership to ensure timely fulfillment of team's Executive Engagement requests in partnership with Managing Director.
- Assist in creating learning materials and leading training sessions on key moments for Media Solutions Team
- Coordination with Executives and their Offices on briefings, scheduling priorities and outreach follow up.
- Creation and timely delivery of all meeting briefing materials for Executives
- Sales team coordination and alignment
- Post meeting follow up
Who You Are:

What You'll Need:
- BA/BS degree required
- 6-7 years of experience in business development; sales, marketing, client relationships, working with top level executives
- Communication skills: excellent and persuasive oral skills to be used over the phone and in person with top executives and their staff. Excellent written communication skills to be used in presentations, emails, pitch decks, and RFP's
- Experience with Keynote, Airtables Microsoft Suite
- Ability to create and lead presentations to groups
- Previous CRM experience, Salesforce experience preferred
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively while also ensuring accuracy of work through attention to detail
- Strong ability to meet deadlines, problem solve and leverage available resources in order to meet needs of team and executives.
