Director, Clinical Programs
Job Description
Company Overview:
Cohere Health is illuminating healthcare for patients, their doctors, and all those who are important in a patient’s healthcare experience. Founded in August 2019, we are obsessed with eliminating wasteful friction in areas that have nothing to do with health and treatment, particularly for diagnoses that require expensive procedures or medications. We build software designed to ensure the appropriate plan of care is understood and expeditiously approved, so that patients and doctors can focus on health, rather than payment or administrative hassles.
We deploy a multi-dimensional engagement model that utilizes Cohere Care Paths to ensure provider decisions are aligned with standards of care and drive optimal outcomes for every patient. We also incorporate proven interventions to unlock further improvements in experience and quality and achieve our clients’ value objectives.
Opportunity Overview:
Cohere’s Clinical Programs team is responsible for conceiving, designing, developing, and continuously refining clinical specialty programs that drive adherence to Cohere’s Care Paths and optimize care. Clinical Programs is part of the Clinical Transformation team, which is responsible for developing and scaling innovative new offerings that utilize data and technology to shift UM from a transactional experience to one that drives personalized care for patients and value for those who care for them.
Reporting to the SVP, Clinical Transformation, this is a crucial role in our organization to build and scale our clinical program offerings. This leader, working in a highly cross-functional role, will be responsible for driving the creation, maintenance, and measurement of clinical programs designed to make meaningful impacts on healthcare experience and outcomes. The work will be fast-paced with evolving needs, requiring flexibility, emotional intelligence, curiosity, and grace under pressure.
Last but not least: People who succeed here are empathetic teammates who are candid, kind, caring, and embody our core values and principles. We believe that diverse, inclusive teams make the most impactful work. Cohere is deeply invested in ensuring that we have a supportive, growth-oriented environment that works for everyone.

- Flexible and agile, comfortable with the ambiguity of an early stage startup, skilled working in remote environments, and self-directed
- Strong understanding of the Medicare and commercial insurance industry, including value-based risk models
- Strong focus on continuous process improvement
Your qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree required (Preferred: MBA or an advanced degree in healthcare-related discipline, MD, or nursing degree)
